It makes you watch the game properly if you have no commentary. It might sound daft but I find myself often looking at my phone and getting my attention drawn back by the commentators, made a big difference to my watching experience having them turned off last night 👍
I'm kicking myself a bit, as I didn't look at the alternative sound available. Even the commentary though was an improvement on the usual "self-grandising-ain't I clever horlicks" that we tend to get. I thought it was a tremendous night of football, especially the staggered kick-off times. I mostly watched the Merseyside derby, which kicked-off during half time of the early kick-off games and had superb goals. The first half of ManU v Spurs was a good watch as well.
Back in time, long, before roofs blew off stadiums and both Bath and Ely Stokies were just a glint in the eye before a Baby Cham or a pint of mild.....
Oh, never mind, when Sky launched, they did, don’t hang me here, 6 (I think) audio channels as side channels for the broadcast. Full commentary, full field effects (crowd) both, neither. Was interesting, didn’t last long.
