I think he will be gone in early January after we lose in the cup. A predictably appalling appointment. 19 hours ago march4 said: The Quitter lasted 13 games Kamara lasted 14 games Lambert lasted 15 games However Jock Rutherford only managed 11 games. Did he join that list of names? The record for a Stoke manager in the past 20 years is Brian Little with 12 from the first 4 games - but he didn't last very long. The next best is 7 from both Johan Boskamp and Mark Hughes. So this is the 4th best start from a new manager in the past 20 years. Please tell me exactly what do you base your logic on to arrive at the conclusion that MONwill be gone before another 11 games have been played? If he keeps his current win record of 50% should see us safe this season

Not defeats, but 111 games at least until he has secured a place in the Champions League.

Minds me of Wallis Simpson’s advice to prince Charles over CPB he too went back in the end after a disaster of a marriage ruined his reputation and has now never been happier .
She said
1 Never turn your back on true love ( N Ireland ) 2 Beware of your family (His boss is his biggest danger make no mistake he won’t be taking the accountability for yet another window disaster or any relegation )
( incidentally Charlie replies but my family are on my side and she said No they aren’t ! funny enough close one eye and Scholes bears a canny resemblance to the queen mother

This is no quick fix for MON , we are sick at the moment and he needs to find the right medicine , 4 games and he’s won 2 lost 2 , the guy needs time , he will keep us up and we will be fine next season , ppl should stop panicking and keep the faith

Not surprising to see this thread, but really? One or two here getting way too much airtime. MON will come good. He is not an inexperienced manager.

MON is stability. We've needed it for years and he appears to be the best opportunity for exactly that. He has not overpromised and underdelivered like the childish, erratic evangelist, instead he is considered but it will take time to undo the utter mess of the previous regimes including the team full of dross brought in by the aforementioned gimp.

Of course he needs time to get into the job & to talk of a sacking already is ludicrus.
The Ndiaye & Etebo situation is a huge worry though as a semi blind squirrel could tell you the are by far & away our best 2 players by an absoloute mile. I cant come up with a reasnoble argument as to why they arnt the first 2 names on the teamsheet & it really has worried me as its such a no brainer to select them.

There is no way the current squad are good enough to string an unbeaten run of results together, simply no way. The Swansea away victory against all odds showed us Badou, Etebo and Clucas is by far our best midfield 3. Why he isn't playing them is a true mystery for sure.

Suggests to me that they are both off at Xmas and O'Neil is looking to build a team around the players who will be around for the rest of the season - which is a perfectly reasonable explanation even if you don't agree with it. O'Neil has got this season and next regardless of what happens. The O'Neil out brigade are just pissing in the wind.

if both Ndiaye & Etebo are off next month that is fair enough but by all accounts they are both fit to play yet weren't selected these are the best 2 players we have at the moment and should be in the team every week to help us get some much needed points i really don't know why MON isn't picking them i wish he would explain cos i just don't understand this madness

I get that Ndiaye is off but would rather play him until the end of December and then get someone else in rather than persist with a midfield that is a proven failure.

If they are already sold just announce it though " Peter Etebo will join so & so on 1st of Jan " or something to that effect. If a transfer hasnt been signed off then they are our players, we pay them & are fit to play so should play. Badou started at Cardiff which suggests that its a pure footballing decision to bench him this weekend doesnt it? I dont know what is happening behind the scenes but we cant afford to not pick our 2 best players on an if, but or maybe in January. We have what 4 or 5 massive games before then

I'd sooner go after the board than the next manager. They're still getting off mightily lightly in my opinion.

I don't think MON is on any danger of being sacked before the end of the season, but it might be difficult to justify keeping him if we are in League One. What we need now is points, both to climb the league and to build some confidence. The style no longer matters. In order to pick up points we must play our best players for as long as we can, even if they leave in January. And realising that we don't have the players for 4-3-3 would help too. Not a great start for MON.

Best midfield performance of the season Fulham at home both played , he either didn’t watch the video ( why not ) or doesn’t know the players ( why not )

I do agree with most, we've appointed another non league manager with zero pedigree, who managed a non league international team of try hard and plucky over achievers. Travesty yet again, the current hierarchy will never learn.
Fingers crossed he manages to do the impossible and over achieve for the second time in his career.

I'm giving him a transfer window + 4 weeks of football.
If he hasn't turned it around by then fuck him off.
Tired of this pandering bollocks, that's what got us in this shit heap in the first place.
