Despite the haters the truth is Joe was our best player on Saturday. Now if you lot are right and he really is shit then we are totally fucked. You are spot on mate. I am no fan of Allen, but like with many of the Shawcross haters, their mind is made up before the game. He was poor, but far better than the other two in midfield, never mind the defence and Vokes

I do rate Allen, just not in any of the roles he's had at Stoke. When he's looked great for Wales it's because he's allowed to hunt down the ball with the rest of the team solid enough that this isn't a problem defencively.
At Stoke we could try to do something similar but the fly in the ointment is that, if we gave Allen a free role, the other two midfielders need to act as a defensive screen for our lumbering porous defence; but would also be required to feed and support our misfiring, toothless attack.
All we need do is find a way to play a 4-2-Allen-2-3 formation and we'll storm the division.

I am no fan of Allen, but like with many of the Shawcross haters, their mind is made up before the game. He was poor, but far better than the other two in midfield, never mind the defence and Vokes I’m in agreement with both posts. The interesting comment you make is “but far better than the other two in midfield”. I believe you’re right again and it’s been same on many occasions. The midfield gets stretched, massive gaps appear and JA endeavours to do something about it. He then gets pulled out of position, or not doing the job he’s on the pitch for and gets called “ a headless chicken” Shawcross had (has) the same problem to a degree by trying to cover space left by the likes of Bauer (an example) etc. His game then suffers and all of a sudden he’s shite and wants bombing out. Its all about opinions of course, those are mine at the moment. It’s easy to target individual players, Walters, Whelan etc are prime examples.

Joe does us a favour and call your agent about a move away from Stoke.

I wish he was subject to competition, the fact he's missed about 4 games other than injuries and suspensions suggests he's not subject to the same criteria.

Based on what Bayern -the fact that he chased back twice, treated us to a mishit shot that the goalie made a meal of, or his thunderbolt that like most his other efforts, wasn’t even on target? Perhaps it was the way he failed to put in one meaningful cross again, or it maybe the way he continually danced around his fullback. It was another game in which his biggest contribution was to get substituted. You don’t like Allen , fair enough, but he’s contributed at least the same as Ince to goals and assists- and one of them is supposed to be a difference maker. They're both meant to be. Neither are performing at the minute but still I thought Ince was our best player on Saturday. He tried to attack and get at them and that was more than most. Bayern - are you Martin Spinks?😳
