With Batth, Indi, Lindsay, Collins and Shawcross here I really don't understand why we brought in CCV at all. I'd say the same about Duffy as it never looked like Jones was to put much faith in him either, but to take a left back on loan didn't seem to strike his mind though!

He's still a car crash of a defender though. Once Rudiger is back and Tomori settles down, he'll be back to being fourth choice. Definitely. I don't get why they don't play Christensen over him either tbh. He's much better. Tomori is pretty much the same player Zouma is with less mistakes and a better positional sense. The pair of them together cna often be quite amusing but I think Tomori is the better of the two already.

That was Zouma's biggest weakness for us I thought. He couldn't time his jumps to save his life and got under so many high balls.

I wouldn't be surprised if Zouma goes once the embargo is lifted and, depending on Rudiger's fitness and Tomori's progress, they might bring in another experienced centre back.

Boss Michael O'Neill has dropped a heavy hint that Cameron Carter-Vickers will retain his place at right back at Hull City tomorrow afternoon.
WTF?

Everything he says seems to prioritise keeping a very settled team.
So I'm certainly now questioning if the Woods-Allen-Clucas axis will be broken up tomorrow
I thought it was a given that the CCV experiment would be over, but apparently not.
Is there any point sticking to a flawed (but settled) XI for the sake of stability?

Its early days, but the manager is starting to grind me already. Those first 2 wins possibly papered over a lot of cracks. If he plays CCV at right back tomorrow, and plays neither of Etebo or Ndiaye, he deserves everything he gets. Common sense must surely prevail?

Is there any point sticking to a flawed (but settled) XI for the sake of stability? I'd play Edwards as long term he obviously has way more to offer, but it isn't the crime of the century for me. CCV offers little going forward but is solid enough defensively and the risk of us getting done at the back post reduces somewhat. The midfield is a worry for me and I hope he changes it as it needs to change.

You're right about the back post....he was marking that last week while the player in the middle had a tap in totally unmarked!!! Brilliant.

Think he has had one good game since he has been here. Send him back in January.

Not a fullback is he...

He's far more solid defensively than Edwards and far more difficult to just knock off the ball. Despite not being a full back I don't think he's made any howlers to match Edward's v Wigan.

Do we think there'd be any takers for Tommy Smith in January? He seems about as close to the team as Pottermus.
Would imagine his wages would be prohibitive for the type of clubs who'd be interested - same old story with our list of unwanteds.

Depends if any of them have ambitions to play beyond just taking the money

Another pile of dross to add to the ever growing mountain we already own thanks Nathan, signed 12 players and made us even worse than we were before Jordan Cousins

Let’s be honest the manager has talked utter nonsense this week around right back , and midfield he’s either being clever and will come up with a team that belies it , or he is a master motivator , or he’s totally out of his depth at this level , let’s see what happens st 3-00 pm

Weird. Unsurprising mind, but I think he's a decent centre half at this level.

not surprising. assuming spurs have got another move lined up for him as I cant see Levy letting us get out of that deal that easy.

Hogan and Duffy next please..... Can't really see it, as much as we'd be more than open to it in both cases, you'd think. Unless there's another club willing to make a similar wage contribution, we're probably stuck.

I think we meant less than nothing to him. The feeling is mutual for me, Can't see him ever breaking through at Tottenham.

Great news.
Liked the signing. Thought he’d be a decent player for us especially with the option to buy.
Hated his guts ever since he didn’t know the name of the fucking stadium he’s playing in every week. Disgrace.
Will not be missed in the slightest.

Maybe when he goes to his next club he could learn the name of the stadium they play at, so it doesn't make him look a mug in an interview.
Good riddance.
