Good fucking riddance. If we aren't paying anything towards his wages, happy days.
2 down, plenty to go.

I like Woods, a very good footballer. You'd like to hope that we could actually keep him and use him. When he made that debut at West Brom I thought he was way too good for us and thoroughly expected he wouldn't be with us for too long because a bigger club would inevitably pinch him off us, he looked that good. He was Brentford's player of the season and there were other clubs trying to sign him at the time, us signing him was a bit of a coup. So what happened, where did it go wrong? I've wondered that. I remember saying to my daughter after the game at Hillsborugh I think it was, that he's a Premier League standard player. After we played at Brentford, where he played, a good friend who is a Bees season ticket holder described him as a shadow of the player he was when there. It's curious isn't it ?

We don’t want him. They pay his wages. They give us a fee to borrow him. If all of the above are true then it is a sound deal. Bugger that marchy they can sign him for £6.5 million or so I've read!

Decent bunch Brentford fans, we were on the railway station after the game and one said to us what the hell have you done to Woods? I don't recognise him, he's not the player who played for us.

penny wise Millwall pound foolish StokePresumably we’re going to get McNair on loan for two seasons and won’t bid 3/4m or more for him..... Nothing like the same situation really.

A lot of the time he's played for us he didn't seem fit, or focused for that matter.
I remember the reading away game when we conceded a injury time equaliser, it was his man and he just didn't look like he had it in him to stay on his toes and press the ball.
I was watching millwall highlight at qpr and noticed the same thing.
He's good technically but overall, I don't see what brentford or Rowett see in him.
He's wank

I wouldn’t rule out Woods coming back and coming good. MoN seems to have the midas touch and let’s face it, most players like to associated with success
We shall see.

I left wondering how the fuck he could get a game the rest is history.

Nothing like the same situation really. No we have a better player we’re wanting to get rid of... That has only shown it for two or three games while he was here, still not the same though, we have a manager that needs backing if doing this gives him some leeway then that'll do for me.

He'd have to play alongside Clucas with a DM behind him, and then where does Powell fit? He's small but so is Hernandez at Leeds. It's his running style that does my head in. His stride is so short that he lacks any pace. Can't see how he'll fit in with us.

www.millwallfc.co.uk/news/2020/july/ryan-woods-signs-season-long-loan-deal/"I'm really happy," Woods told millwallfc.co.uk. "I'm really pleased it has been done so early as well. It was a no brainer, I've really enjoyed my time here since joining. "I think that's started to reflect on the pitch. I'm starting to get my confidence back, which I lacked for 12-14 months - I'm delighted to be back to myself, and I want to help out the team as much as possible going into next season. "I'm really pleased with the last few weeks, it's probably put me in line with the rest of the players in the League. I was a bit behind having not played much football at Stoke."

There's got to be some weird and twisted irony to this hasn't there? Rowett lumbers us with a 6M midfielder that we can't shift, other than a cheap loan to Rowett's current team 6-12 months after he left us.

The people bemoaning the fact that this is a loan and not a sale need to realise that:
1) Loan moves these days usually involve a significant fee
2) If we’d sold him for anything less than a third of what we paid for him (ie £2.2 million) it would be recorded as a loss on our balance sheet for FFP, which we can’t afford to do.
The bad business was signing him in the first place, not loaning him out now.

You might want to save that post as a template, because I get the feeling you'll be saying this a lot this transfer window, which I think is the ultimate point here.

We should be able to get a decent fee for one of the better midfielders in this league. The fact we can’t is shocking.
