"There are things in the dressing room I don't like, but I won't be able to change them between now and the end of the season"
Interesting in both interviews there's a mention of fitness too. I don't normally go with these "don't look fit" theories - but after a 3-month break, if you've ballsed up the short, pretty unique pre-season, it's obviously going to hurt you very badly.
Last night, Wigan looked like South Korea in the World Cup in 2002 - and we looked like a hungover PDSL team.

And yet some how he managed it, Chester, Thompson.... In his defence he didn’t have much time with the squad to identity gaps and recruit the right players. Any competent recruitment team would have a long list of decent targets ready to sign. Instead ours were more preoccupied with shifting out N’Diaye and Etebo... And in the defence of the recruitment team, they needed to go if the manager wasn't going to use them as we have to cut the wage bill as much as possible.

Watching us is like watching an over 50’s Masters game at times......

This lot couldn't motivate themselves to get out of bed in the morning never mind train hard in isolation. MoN is having to deal with a squad of completely demotivated and unfit players with the odd exceptions that I feel sorry as the rest of their team mates have let them down extraordinarily. Lack of desire and personal pride is prevalent in at least 60-70% of the squad and you can't carry 6/7 players in a game, we were so far off the pace last night it was scary and had the feel of a training game for Wigan. I can't see us escaping relegation, the half-arsed training during isolation and lack of desire now they are back has cast the die already. Shameful

What on earth has gone on at this club during lockdown?

I'm really intrigued by that quote and with that in mind, where the hell are the owners and CEO? Surely now the manager needs firm public backing to try and shock these wankers into action? Not a lily livered 'could be a vote of confidence' type speech, a proper, forceful statement that leaves them in no doubt that the fans are behind the manager, the owners are behind the manager, they've been in the fortunate position of having full pay through lockdown, are well paid anyway and it's up to them to put it right starting on Saturday.

Is there a Vince Overson moment imminent? Is there a core of nasty horrible bastards in the dressing room to galvanise us? Is there TP head butt anywhere? Is there a Huth moment, grabbing that Wolves player? Is there a Taggart moment, teaching a Denis Wise a lesson? Is there anybody with any fight that gives a shit within our dressing room?
You are playing for a set of fantastic fans and a wonderful traditional football club and you don’t even appreciate it. Get your fucking acts together!!

James McClean wouldn’t stop exercising apparently, but he doesn’t look sharp at all. It’s probably less fitness and more lethargy to be fair, we looked sluggish at Reading which is understandable I suppose but credit where it’s due we battled to the end. Middlesbrough wasn’t a fitness issue when we played on the front foot in the second half we should have at least got back on level terms as we were dominating them until we gave a stupid goal away. Wigan they played like they had lead in their boots from the first minute, that’s the real concern as you would have expected them to have something to prove after Saturday......

The past four managers have referred to things they 'don't like in the dressing room'
Well fucking sort them out then, it's kind of your frigging job.
If you caught the very start of the game last night Clucas was pissed off throwing his arms around and shaking his head as he emerged from the temporary tunnel. What an attitude to go on to the pitch with in the biggest game of the season.
The egos on these exceptionally limited footballers makes me want to throw up.

That’s the problem with modern footballers though, 9 times out of 10 when you take the players on head on they’re still at the club when the manager gets sacked O’Neill will be thinking “somehow we need to stay in this division so I can get rid of these bastards” but it might not pan out that way.....

Oh I agree but maybe the players are as baffled as we are by what they are being asked? We can’t slate Nathan Jones but then defend Michael O'Neill if that’s what’s happening It’s either the players or the managers mate....you can’t dib in and dib out

What on earth has gone on at this club during lockdown? This x100 You know where most players were doing fitness challenges, skills challenges and the like? Perhaps the odd joint video with Joe Wicks? Well our players were browsing the just eat app, having a quick shufty at a porn site and then out onto the veranda for small fag whilst the just eat order turns up.

The bad players are stuck here, probably with several "play me" clauses. MON has done his level best getting some of the losers out, but like the other managers he's not a magician.

I can't get over how off-the-pace we look and that we're hanging on in games from the first whistle. We don't look competitive at all.

The manager has been horrendous since the resumption, no doubt and he will take the ultimate responsibility but what went on last night went way beyond the muddled thinking of an increasingly bemused looking manager. There wasn't an iota of personal or professional pride in 90% of them. They simply don't care and there is clearly some sort of poison in the dressing room and grievances, grudges and an unwillingness to fight for each other. Fuck 'em all.

It’s one of the most important functions in a football club in my opinion. What we should be doing is copying the likes of Brentford and investing in a professional recruitment team that uses moneyball and data analysis to identify cheap and good players. Presumably this is what all the best Prem teams are doing too. Our team seems to be rooted in the dark ages and we mainly target players based on their reputation or which agents we have connections with.
