Thought it was £9m and £5m respectively. The reported fee for Vokes was £7m + Crouch thought it was £3.5m for Batth?

So a manager who has never bought a player at this level in this country , buys a player who has never played at this level or in this country , within a process which has failed , failed and failed borrowing £190m on the way and leaving assets of perhaps 10% of that .
What could possibly go wrong .

Unlike with all those seasoned professionals we've got who were bought by managers experienced at this level?
That's worked well, hasn't it ....

Ince, McClean, Afobe, Smith, Lindsay, Cousins, Vokes, Powell, Davies, Batth, Ward have looked like absolute world beaters with their wealth of experience in this country and level.

Nothing against the guy or Aberdeen standard but from looking at the Youtube clips he really doesnt look up to much. Very static target man. It will be like having another Crouch up front but with less finishing ability. It forces you to play one way. If he is only a back-up option I could understand it, but we have SO MANY back-up options as people have mentioned that we need to clear off our books. Totally disagree. Ryan Fraser of Bournemouth came from Aberdeen, Maddison of Leicester be a me a very good player after spell at Aberdeen. Cosgro eis a Premiership player. Scored 16 goals already this season. I personally would think Celtic and Rangers would give us 5 at this moment. They are burning up Europe. Rangers are looking for £30million for Morelos so Cosgro e should be same price. £10million for Cosgro e is a bargain. Aberdeen usually put 20% sellon clause to any good players. Personally a bigger club will be in for him. Also was top scorer for European first rounds. He hardly scored first 29 games and in last year he has scored tons. Sign him up quick if we can afford him Cosgrove should not cost anything close to Morelos.

Just to be cantankerous is this a player we ought to be targeting ? Adam Rooney scored shed loads for Aberdeeen and ended up at Salford in non league. Don't think he is pulling up many trees in League two this season.
It is a two horse League at best and some of the other sides are shocking. Got to be honest i'm not convinced myself.

Do they all go after the same type of player and no left back, despite jones stating he wanted youth and agility? I seriously doubt the managers are signing this constant conveyor belt of journeymen that can’t run.

Just for the record Rooney has scored 24 goals in 53 games for Salford. Appreciate its a lower level of course.

Look at it the other way though, if he can score goals in that league with lesser players, just imagine what he could do here with much bett.... oh, ok then.

I'm not convinced with Cosgrove. He seems like he's bullying shit defenders to me, he won't have that down here.
Not sure he has real pace either

Massive risk here, of throwing good money after bad imo.
My priority is trimming the 33 man squad back to 20. New signings are secondary. We're top-heavy and its creating a poor culture, which is stinking the club out.

The SPL lower sides are littered with ex League one and two players. The standard is awful, i just think Cosgrove in our situation isn't an upgrade on Gregory , Hogan and that is really saying something !!

Trouble is we have players for whom we overpaid now worthless (Hughes lot), players for whom we overpaid now worthless (Rowetts lot), players who were no good in the first place (Jones lot). Mostly on relatively high wages and long contracts. It can't be done.
