dont care where he was born mate he plays in scotland so he is not up 2 much,if he was decent he would be gone now,we dont need another duff striker on our hands. I couldn't agree more, mate! I never understood what Southampton and Liverpool were doing when they signed that liability of a defender Virgil van Dijk! exactly defender not striker,

The same people saying he isn’t good enough because he plays in Scotland are probably the same people who said Souttar was too slow and only good enough for League One.
Sign him and stick him up front, this is definitely the season to experiment as we are throwing points away most weeks through not being able score

I’d rather Fletcher or Gregory than this guy.

Dead right. Chris Sutton and Henrik Larsson were shite too. different era Alfredo Morales looks like a good player at 24. I think the point that should be made is that Scottish Premier football isn't at the same level as the Championship, though that doesn't mean that every player in the league would be awful in this one. Cosgrove is only 24 and has been getting roughy 1 in 2 across the last two full seasons. He could be worth a punt.

If Cosgrove signs, he could be our most significant acquisition from Scotland since Dave Rowson! What about Jamie Ness? Sounds like a monster!

Morales is a trouble maker and gets sent off far to often

When you look at the players coming to the end of their contracts this summer I think that Cosgrove might well be a positive acquisition. Gregory will be out of contract this summer. Cosgrove is 24 and at 6 foot 3' he is going to be a handful. For what we are paying Shawcross we could put in a very tempting offer for the likes of Ben Pearson who is coming to the end of his Preston contract. I personally would not renew Mikel's deal. I would rather offer Cousins a new deal.I would keep Chester for another year also.

He will come deep as well to pick up the ball he can score from outside the box as well and is certainly more mobile than sumo Sam!

I think now with our transfer we have a good sensible manager that even if given decent funds would make decent signings of the right calibre, mentality and work ethic - it might disappoint those that seem to think we should be on a transfer level on par with Man City but ultimately they’ll be signings that collectively compliment each other and create a good team.

IDK on this one.
Obviously we're playing with a completely toothless strike force hitting, what, 3 or 4 out of ten if we're lucky?
So on the one hand, I'm definitely in the "anyone is better than Vokes" camp.
(Powell is better than Vokes up top but he's not the answer either.)
On the other hand, SC just 'feels' like a 5 or possibly a 6 out of ten - and we will need much better to keep pace with the top six and / or put a run together to cement out place in it.
So for me, and I'd love him to prove me wrong, he seems to be a cheap sticking plaster (& yet ano bang average squad player issue stored up for the future) as opposed to a latter-day James Beattie - now that we have our x2 latter-day Matty Etheringtons already signed up.

We really do need a strong second half of the season from Fletcher don’t we? These alternatives I read about don’t look promising at all. People rightly point to Campbells injury, but on closer inspection it was actually Fletchers injury against Norwich which has derailed us.

Cosgrove is just a big target man who can't run to save his life. Is that really the type of striker who would fit in to the sort of team O'Neill is trying to build? I don't think so.

I’d stick with Vokes until the summer, and just hope fletcher gets fit, stays fit then look at getting someone who’s quick playing up top with Campbell,

Any of our strikers could now come alive with the arrival s of the likes of Clarke and rabbi ...better delivery of passing and crosses will definitely help them and they may just come alive and thrive on it

Only if he is qualified or working towards the qualifications to do it and accepting of a pay that would fit his novice experience: football is a business.

Morales is a trouble maker and gets sent off far to often The fact that he has edge is a good thing, we don't have an awful lot of aggression in this group apart from Jimmy and, on occasion, Powell. Obviously wouldn't come here, good enough to get a shot in the prem, but if he could channel it in the right way, he would be ace.
