I keep getting told Shankland is lined up for Rangers when they sell Morales, and in fact we're using the story to pressure Aberdeen into agreeing a reasonable fee for Cosgrove.

A Dundee United supporting friend tells me that local sport radio in Scotland is reporting that we've signed Shankland

Break the bank for that Shankland lad. He's almost a supernatural goalscorer!

I've been working at my office in Scotland this week, although most there are Rangers fans, one of the designers is a Dundee Utd STH. He informed me today that at this moment in time they only have one fit striker on their books and the club would be crazy selling their only striker.

I watch DUFC regular, the lad Shanks can score and is a natural finisher, however he has scored most of his goals against League Two (possibly even National League) level keepers and defenders all season, he scored 50 in 61 previously for Ayr Utd against the same crowd. Knows where the goal is, started life at Queens Park as did Andy Robbo, so could be a gamble.
Every Arab loves him up here, although I am yet to be convinced of his game outside the 18 yrd box....one of those who doesn't do a great deal then pops up with 2......would need a team that creates chances.
He's also a big Rangers Fan so I would expect a natural progression to the top end of the SPL before a venture south...

Both Cosgrove and Shankland are very uninspiring. The teams they're scoring against up there are nowhere near championship standard more like league 2.

It is on one aspect but looking at those clips, he looks a natural finisher and those kind of players tend to be able to score in any division, Steino was playing in the third tier of English football when he moved to Chelsea and had no problem there in the early days.

www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/lawrence-shankland-transfer-trigger-point-21382878Dundee United boss Robbie Neilson has confessed he could be powerless to stop Lawrence Shankland leaving if a significant offer comes in for his star man before the close of the window.
A host of scouts were in attendance to keep a close eye on the 24-year-old who is attracting serious interest from Stoke City.
Record Sport exclusively revealed United will look to hold for in excess of £2m if Michael O'Neill's side or other suitors came calling for a player who is under contract until 2022."It depends what the bid is. If someone comes in with a million pounds it's going to get papped out the door.
