Hughes too late (we all know why) Lambert too early (why not give him 5-10 games to see once he'd diagnosed the issues. Rowett had to start again?) Rowett too early (he needed to be told to button it, apologise and earn himself a second life. Like Lambert, he was probably starting to get to grips with the issues) Jones too late (never bought the idea that being in transition equated to turning, overnight, from a blunt mid table team to absolute relegation fodder. Didn't earn the right over the summer and should have gone in the summer).
What should have happened (ish) Hughes got to stay to see us survive (aka Hughton at Brighton last season)- probably ending up 16th/17th having beaten Brighton and drawn with Everton. We might have lost Shaq, and ECM. Seize the moment to also get rid of Crouch, Fletcher, Diouf, Cameron, Adam, Bojan, Berahinho, Affelay and Grant, Wimmer et al while we could afford to. Club appointed Allardyce or Moyes as consultant/DOF and a progressive international first team manager, bringing different skills and experiences. (Or vice versa - ex Ajax DOF and young British manager). The former to build the footballing structure - youth development, fitness, recruitment, analytics - the latter to run the first team. Recruitment policy centred on under 25s. Prudent use of loaning players from top 4 (aka Abraham, Mount et al). Give young Champs players a chance too - aka likes of Watkins, Robinson.

I think Lambert's was the worst .
Sacked because he said the club was unprofessional when he walked through the door, and Scholes got the arse
He improved work rate , fitness , attitude , organisation and made us a harder to beat
He couldn't get , I can't be arsed Jesse and Berahino and oops I have forgot to how play football Diouf to outscore our rivals strikers ( who were not bad .. Glenn Murray , Llorente , danny ings , Rondon , Rodriguez ) , but I genuinely doubt anyone could have pulled that off . We had worst strikers than our rivals
The fact that he was proper football man ,who won everything as a player and a promotion winning manager was ignored, because Scholes wanted a scapegoat .
We all know he wanted the club to back him and sign Gayle , which in hindsight would have been a decent shout
Scholes malice was Ipswich's gain
In a bad situation , Lambert showed his class and Schole's his lack of it
