Loads of them were in testimonials and friendlies though. And won 3 World Cups! He didn't play in the 62 final. Garrincha was better than him anyway😂

The commentator here just said Ronaldo has scored his 700th goal. Only 6 players have managed that. He didn't say who they were. Pele scored over 1000. Didn't Romario claim the same as well?

There was nothing implied. You were just being thick. Now stop this 😂 Just piss off Bayern, I honestly haven't met anyone as dim as you in my life, which is rather worrying. You literally asked why with no nuance or hidden message. Then you’ve gone into full on defensive have a go at me mode. Hilarious. Easier just to ignore it after you’ve said something as daft and it clearly is.

To play devil's advocate, would the England players have been subject to this sort of treatment if they hadn't been asked to talk about what they would do in the event of racist chanting? I know they're only trying to answer the questions put to them honestly and earnestly, but it hasn't proved to be particularly diplomatic and I feel that it's caused a lot of unnecessary bad blood ahead of what shouldn't have been a particularly high profile game. That's not to condone the actions of some of the Bulgarian fans tonight, or to say the England players have brought it on themselves, but I think the unsavoury elements in the crowd have played up to this reputation and have made the most of having the spotlight shone on them in the build up to the game. Sorry mate but there is no devils advocate to this. They're making racist chants. It's an absolute disgrace that this is happening in international football at the highest level. It needs stopping and ending now. Oh, absolutely. I'm not suggesting it's justified or legitimate, just asking whether it would have been so prominent tonight had it not been such a big talking point in the build up to the game.

Your question was a daft one and had absolutely no relation to anything you’ve mentioned after it was highlighted as being really fucking stupid. The stupid thing is you actually thinking I don't know why a black player is being abused... I mean, that's total idiocy right there. You should take a second and have a think about what might or might not be implied within a message before immediately smashing a response. Well I read it as why Mings rather than the other black players but Bayern clearly knows exactly what goes on inside your mind. You should bow down to the clearly hugely intellectual mind that he posesses and apologise immediately. If you put him in a bad mood he's not gonna tell us what next week's lottery numbers are.

If that’s all it was Dave I’d agree but according to reporters there racist abuse is being aimed at Mings and Sterling as well as these pricks The ironic thing here is those dicks don't seem to understand that if they woke up tomorrow and it was 1938 again they'd be amongst the first in the queues for the showers.

We've seen it a few times with England inh E last couple of years so I think it would. Those younger sections of the fans would've come to the game and done the same either way. However, I get your point now, I think ITV have picked up on it more and rightly so. They've shown it for what it is.

Sterling was getting abused too. And it’s a daft question even without that! Because it doesn’t matter who the player is. That’s the point that’s why it’s such a stupid question 🤦♂️

I've explained what I meant because you jumped to the wrong conclusion. It's not "defensive" it's an explanation, one you've chosen to ignore because yet again you refuse to say you were wrong for doing so. Boring pal, how you keep up this routine is beyond me.

Yeah, I think highlighting it when it does happen is always the right thing to do, and it's a fair point that England have also been subject to this sort of thing elsewhere even without as much focus on it in the build up to those games.

UEFA have been turning a blind eye to this racist crap for years and are finally coming round to doing something about it. Bulgaria is a country with previous and I'm sure England have been tipped off by EUFA that if they were to make a stand they would back them. The England camp putting it out there that they'd be prepared to walk off is just giving everyone a heads up that they're prepared to be the team that goes along with EUFA's intent to ratchet up the sanctions. Everyone concerned knew what was going to happen. The zeig heiling racists turned up with every intention of abusing the black players and EUFA and England were prepared to make Bulgarian football pay the price. It could have been any one of a number of countries who would take the hit - and any nation who puts up with that crap deserves what they get. 40 years ago it would have been us. I think that's fair enough, but would UEFA would green light a team unilaterally walking off when they have protocols in place for the referee/UEFA officials to abandon the game? UEFA wouldn't green light that - an unscrupulous team needing a 1-0 win would pull a fast one. England knew full well that if they followed the protocol they wouldn't be penalised and EUFA were perfectly happy give England the go ahead to walk off to finally demonstrate they would back a team prepared to make a stand. The whole thing was stage managed - and fair play to all concerned - apart from the racist knobheads.

He has put the ball right in UEFAs court in respect of clarifying the protocols and what happens next. He's come out and publicly said why the "walk off" step wasn't introduced - it was because it wasn't "mass" racist chanting but isolated incidents. That means it was still happening and the officials were aware of it. What happens next sits with UEFA and how they punish Bulgaria and its troglodyte fans is the big step.

The answer is likely yes. Ignoring civil rights abuses has never led to a reduction of their incidence, more just to a reduction of their reporting.

Is it not time to throw repeat offenders out of UEFA? Or at least a ban for a tournament or two?

Raheem Sterling is becoming an icon, not just for his footballing abilities either. Exemplary tonight in every sense of the word, well done to all in the most difficult of circumstances.
