I think you and innocentbystander have won this exchange by a knockout. I have no idea what's happened to Diouf, or why, but I am convinced of one thing - that the idea that the Mame Diouf who played for us in the PL would not be worth a place in the squad of the team which is bottom of the Championship is not a sustainable proposition. I agree Malcolm, I'd go further and call it a laughable proposition. I wonder what on earth has gone on, he seemed like one of the good guys to me. Looks like they've tried to manage him out to get his wages off the books but it's not worked.

He is dead dead right though. Lucky. The bloke has 2 left feet That surely says he should be in the squad then? We have a few now with no feet. Quite a good achievement though, to be our premier league top scorer with two left feet?

Who gets sacked for letting this happen?: a) CEO b) Manager c) CEO & Manager d) Nobody, it's just one of those things that happens in football.

He didn’t sign him. I don’t really think anyone is to blame, he’s a player who always showed willing and some early promise but simply wasn’t good enough In the end.

Does Diouf still turn up & train at Clayton Wood these days, does anyone know? Despite his weekly earnings, being a footballer at a club & not getting any playing opportunity & not being anywhere near getting any must be in itself really frustrating & demoralising for the guy. This is what I mean. Is he ready?

Wasn't the manager asking £2m for him either. Only an absolute tool would fail to realise that the kind of clubs who might take him - middling clubs abroad - couldn't pay a fee and his wages.
