the amount of people who believe we signed Imbula purely on the basis of one friendly is astonishing I bet me mortgage he wasn't watched the mythical "20" times though How can you lose a mortgage. by losing a bet?
Does the winner of the bet get your mortgage?
How does this work?

I say all the time but when you write it down it does look a bit odd. So don't know chief, I will think of summat else to say next time I've never got that, cheap at half the price, one either!

He's a massive reason why we are where we are, and that minuscule spell of great football wasnt worth the shit we've had to endure since because of his inability to manage. Is he bollocks a massive reason. Coates was to blame for Hughes, he hired him. Hughes did a great job in the middle part of his time in charge but when he stopped delivering what did Coates say? I don't know what all the fuss is about. Coates let everyone down where Hughes is concerned. so you can applaud mark Hughes for 2 good seasons but slam the owners for a decade in the top flight. about right

Three consecutive finishes in the top ten of the top division - nothing special ? Really ? How many times has a Stoke City supporter experienced that since the club was founded ? We probably had similar success in 1970s, after league cup win, with 2 x 5th places and a 12th place finish in consecutive seasons before the roof blew off butler st. What I think you're trying to say is 'never'

Ridiculous statement. He lost his way but he also was the manager of some of the best football I have seen since Waddo

What I think you're trying to say is 'never' Not at all. Did you experience those seasons in the 70s ..........2 FA Cup semis, winning the League Cup and three exciting seasons described above averaging 7th place plus first time in Europe. Plus much more exciting football and players. We came so close to winning the title which we had no hope of under Hughes even after 3 x 9th place finishes.

I was at Exeter away when Stoke fans were queuing up to buy boiling tea & walking it down to the dugout & throw it over Alan Ball. When’s Reading away...

Mark must be wondering why 'his team' are getting offered jobs 'he' is applying for... shall I give you a clue, leslie? 😃 Berahino, Wimmer , Imbula good enough start Plus he has left virtually every team in worse shape than he found them (Fulham, Stoke, QPR and Southampton). Three consecutive top 10 finishes don’t count for much if you create a complete shambles headed for relegation, from which we may never recover. There’s no reason why he couldn’t build on what he created, but he totally blew a golden opportunity not to mention wasting a shed full of cash and leaving massive financial liabilities.

To answer the question per se then I don’t believe we have had 3 consecutive top 10 finishes. But we were very close to it in the 70s plus the excitement of what I have described over those seasons easily transcends the 3 seasons under hughes. IMO of course. BTW you never answered my question .....did you experience those seasons in the 70s?

Quite simple really Under Hughes we were moderately entertaining also rans Under waddington we were entertaining title challengers Despite what Hughes achieved nobody thought we could of broken into the top four Whilst in the early to mid seventies there was the thought this is the year it finally happens a little bit of luck and it would have

The man has more than likely earned more whilst pretending to be a football manager than he did during his playing days and he has screwed club after club.. not bad work if you can get it. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in one of his latest jobs interviews. He must know he's shit but when people are chucking big contracts at you and then sacking you after 6 month owing you millions then who wouldn't keep doing it. Its like 6 numbers on the lottery every time you are sacked. It must be worth doing your coaching badges and applying because if he can still get jobs anybody can

Got to admire Bowen's style.
Bowen put in charge of finding next manager
Bowen "I've found just the man. His name is Mark Bowen"

Tim Sherwood always looks unhinged.
He reminds me of Reece Dinsdale in ID when he starts putting cocaine on his corn flakes.
