We got away with it yesterday because their midfield was very weak. We did but Allen should be dropped out of the two. It’s not even a decision that’s close. I just about agree with you but it's closer for me than you obviously. Woods slipped and dithered and lost the ball numerous times fortunately none were as disastrous as Allen's for their goal. But Woods and Allen are just too small and lacking in mobility and presence. So for me it's one or the other.

Interesting on how MON views his best position. Must admit, the Galatasaray fans definitely did not describe him as a disciplined holding player - much more of an all-action engine.
“We’ve spoken about the situation and he feels at times earlier in the season he wasn’t possibly played in his best position.
“I see him as a player who will play higher up the pitch as opposed to a defensive-style midfield player and he’s responded well to that in training.

Regarding Butland,it looks like O'Neill is another 1 ignoring current form in favour of him being a top keeper some years ago.Sorry but current form should be everything when picking players,we saw that when Bojan 1st arrived. He came with a massive reputation but didn't adapt quickly enough and was poor so Hughes rightly dropped him and when he brought him back he was a different player. Every time Butland comes back from being dropped he's just as bad as before. How long do you give it before you accept the 'class' has gone ?

Doesn’t ring true on badou , O’Neil is effectively saying even with Clucas and Etebo unfit he’s not in the top 2 midfielders in the club very strange he’s not the 5th best option for one of those two roles and if he is no way he will stay nor should he .

If he keeps playing Woods as a lone DM he is going to get stung. He's got away with it so far but tomorrow night could easily be another Preston away.
He has to play Badou in there whilst he's here.

That why it’s a big team selection , is the preparation thorough enough to see what’s not worked before

We haven’t really got anyone who plays like him really? For me it’s Badou Another Clucas when they’re all fit. Only Badou for that deep role. Woods, Allen and Etebo for that middle role.

Terrible slump in form, yes - but Jack is capable of regaining his form. Let's see what happens when he is behind a defense worthy of the name and in a team that believes in itself. I'm betting we'll all be singing a different tune soon.

Woods put in some lovely deliveries from the right on Satdee. Highly conspicuous by their presence as it were.
