He's not on about refusing to face the press is he? There was no place for defiance after the humble, 'I just haven't been good enough' speech on Tuesday night - it was ridiculous and absolutely nothing to do with motivating the players. Sticking with him may well be the answer, I just wish he'd shown gratitude for still being in a job, not spouting through gritted teeth about his critics knowing nothing when their comments are based on his abysmal record since January? You're making things up now. He has very clearly said he is lucky to still have a job and that the owners have been very kind to him. He said this straight after the Hudds game where he had the bollocks to face the camera. Just admit you just don't like him and stop inventing things.

Can see a stuffing against Fulham the way he's going on.
After we learned he was going to leave Hogan back at home.... seems his great victory was down to a big stroke of luck after all!
Now is the time he should be poring through the footage and working out what went well and didn't. For a time on Saturday, Swansea looked likely to score a second as we backed off. Gregory's shooting instinct is off - what's going on. Edwards was making mistakes galore. Correct them. Campbell needs a stern-but-encouraging talking to (especially around the incident when he berated Bruno) until he gets the role of running the channels... Where exactly is Batth directing his headers out? (Does his team mates - esp CCV - know what he is trying to do so they can win the second ball?)
Great win, but spend the time tightening up the things that could have cost you and will do the next time you play a good team if you are not on top of things.

When you consistently get things massively wrong, chances are that once in a blue moon, you by mistake, get it right.

For a start you claim it's just a question yet you failed to answer mine. I asked you what point are you trying to make. And secondly your question is quite plainly an insult, so being the more reasonable one here i'll just leave it there. Calm yourself down and try not to be so angry, its not good for you.

I see it this way.
Jones looks a bit of a dick. He sounds a bit of a dick. Only a dick could produce his results.
You can see where this is going?

My point is "Ask a stupid question and you will get a stupid answer" Does that work?

Well, we'll find out very soon! Until there is better evidence (ie 2-3 more wins in the next 4-5), Im going for the theory that says everyone had stopped giving a shit. They thought - Nathan thought - it was a dead rubber. Nathan was nothing more than a caretaker. Everyone was anticipating the change. In the season Sunderland went down - with a shocking team - they suddenly mustered a 4-1 win at Derby after 10 winless games which were thought to have consigned them to relegation; and then a 3-0 win on the final day against Wolves. Once everyone stops giving a shit, strange things can happen in the odd game. New manager bounces are worth 0.2pts/game in the PL for 12 games - attributed to new ideas/approaches. Maybe a bit of our bounce came early? Nathan: "Genius" or "Unhinged PE teacher with delusions that he is the second coming".... find out in the next episode!

Why not just answer the question and leave out the hardman act.

I never said I don't like him, Just don't feel like being 'kind' to him. I also made reference to his humble, apologetic comments after the Huddersfield game - it was his defiance after Swansea that I thought was out of place. I've also said that it may be the correct decision to stick with him - just no quite ready to blow smoke up his arse after one win in 11. I'm not inventing things, you're not reading my posts properly are you.

Sorry, but how was literally matching Swansea for that game a "big stroke of luck". He still picked Hogan for that game, it was his choice so that's not luck... good on him for starting him. We should have won that game - Gregory had chances were he should of scored (that you could almost call unlucky) You've made your point that you dont like Jones, but give credit were credit is due. We played well for the game, we didnt cave in at 1 0 down and we got the win. Hopefully we can do it the next few games.

My belief is that he will go back to doing what he has been doing for months. Ince and Jimmy Mac will be back. Somehow he will convince himself that "This time it will work".

Hard not to like the guy but If he says I put in 14 hours work a day and we create lots of chances again I’m gonna scream I agree. He seems like a decent chap. However, lots of people work long hours for a lot less money. I wouldn’t expect any less for a person in his situation. I had a boss whose favorite expression when we were in the shit was “from now on all I want to see is assholes and elbows”. Sums up Stoke’s situation pretty well. We’re in the shit and all we should see is arseholes and elbows.

Noone doubts the effort Peter Noone was the singer in Herman’s Hermits. Still going strong, but not sure he’s a footie coach. He’s also from Manchester, so probably does not follow Stoke

The trouble is that he nearly got it right, and nearly didn't get it all wrong to the point that we are sitting smack bang on the bottom of the table.
I've always been a firm believer that there should be two tables. The real one and the Nearly one.

Tony Pulis would always resort to reeling off stats when things weren't going his way, managers have various methods of deflecting stuff away from themselves, probably because if they don't have self belief then no one will believe in them. It's probably the only job in the world where you can go from being the a highly respected (even on a worldwide scale) individual to sacked in the space of a couple of months. Yes indeed. Especially at Real Madrid. Also Pochettino, Ron Saunders.
