If he’s lost the dressing room he’s got to go today not after Tuesday, what’s the point🙄We need to win this game and prolonging his stay makes the chances of that a lot slimmer imo He's gone no doubt. But I didn't see he'd lost the dressing room on friday night. They maybe were not entirely playing for him, but were certainly not playing to get him out either. He pretty much accepted the situation after the game. Tuesday is still important and if the players can show the same effort on Tuesday and we win, then he can go either after that or during the international break. Its a Hughes at Watford situation all over again though mate, win Tuesday and he hangs on for a while and in the meantime we continue to occupy the relegation places for weeks ahead

To be honest, I think that seems like guesswork. It certainly hasn't looked like Jones has lost the dressing room to me. Players looked like they were playing for him on Friday. Tom Edwards looked like he was playing for Jones so much he was terrified of making a mistake. I don't get this lost the dressing room after watching them Friday night. He might have lost those tossers who played against crawley, but that 11 friday night ran their tits off. Doesn't change the fact that they will now look for another manager why he continues to try get the same level of effort and different result on tuesday.

We need someone in charge on Tuesday who can pick a team. You see that back line he picked against Forest, utterly ridiculous. The fucking about he's done just with the backline is probably the biggest problem. He's actually found the solution to midfield, getting badou onside is the best thing he's done. If he'd just decided on a proper back four and trusted his most experienced centre backs and full backs I think we'd have ground out a couple of wins in the last few games. It's a basic confusion clouding his judgement Genuine question Who would you put in the backline on Tuesday? 4 or 5 at the back It's a dilemma selecting the most balanced formation from the squad Experience the priority?

Whoever comes in will need to be a very experienced senior manager, who will be able to stamp some authority on the clusterfuck of a squad which he will inherit. The significant club cost to the club must be horrendous. We're still paying Rowett, we have numerous multi-million pound signings dotted around Europe getting paid fortunes by the club, who they will never play for again. The problem is that it is a massive risk to any manager of pedigree to come anywhere near us.

Why hasn’t he been sacked already? It makes no sense at all. Staying up from this point will be a miracle. And we need to aid that miracle the best we can by getting rid of the useless fucker. It makes perfect sense: 1 If we get rid of Jones we will have had 5 managers inside 2 years - that's basket case territory. No sane ambitious manager will touch us - we either have to pay daft money or resign ourselves to the list of desperate and depressing managerial options 2 The owners know the problems run far deeper than the manager - we're dismantling a Premiership side and trying to build a functional Championship side. That takes time. 3 When they appointed Jones they new he was inexperienced at this level and were probably prepared to give him more time to learn and realise his potential at a higher level 4 Sacking a manager mid season gives the new manager very little room to manoeuvre in shaping the squad 5 Maybe this time round the owners are lining someone up before removing Jones to stamp out any confusion and ensure a smooth transition 6 Sacking a manager does not necessarily solve the underlying problems. The owners get that - but despite the incontrovertible evidence of our last to years some fans still don't get it - if you want to moan about something not making sense that's the doozy If it's true that Jones has lost the dressing room then he has to go. His record is appalling and seen in isolation is a very good reason to let him go but it's tempered by the perfectly valid reasons for giving him more time listed above. When Jones was appointed I said it was a gamble - despite the ridiculous euphoria at the time of his appointment when he was hailed as our saviour. It's increasingly looking like a gamble that hasn't come off. If he lost the players because of his decision to drop some high profile players for the Leeds game then we really have a problem dressing room not a problem manager and sacking Jones isn't going to solve that. If he lost the dressing room after the Crawley game I've got a lot less sympathy given that he put out such a bizarre starting 11 - it was no wonder they had a bad poor game.At that point it looked to me like the stress was affecting his decision making - he lost faith in his preferred formation and in effect he lost faith in himself. Once that gets communicated to the players you're a goner. I think he'll go after the Huddersfield game - and I hope with a win and some dignity in tact. Which is another good reason for him to remain in charge on Tuesday,

Good news but still makes absolutely no sense to let him take a lost dressing into a must win game on Tuesday. Get him sacked, give it to Delap or even Russell. There must be someone at the club these selfish bastard players respect. Unless they're going for a Monday morning sacking, yeah it just doesn't make sense giving him the Tuesday match. Still completely bonkers to me. No doubt we'll have people on stand watch on Tuesday seeing if Moyes or Hughton are in the stands Equally we don't want another embarrassing episode where potential managers turned us down We ended up with a 4th? choice in Lambert, (I thought he did ok in the circumstances) but the humiliation of the refusals may not help our cause now Risky to sack him without a successor definitely in place

My biggest worry is that everyone has a hard on for a disciplinarian manager. A Keane style manager isn't exactly great for confidence is he?

Going find it difficult get behind this group of players who ever the manager is but I'm sure a few wins and all will be forgotten.

Shit journalism I agree to a certain extent but there’s players who are just passed from pillar to post in regards selection or not chosen at all so maybe it’s those I personally think his squad is too big and he’s trying l to keep everybody happy ( hence the tombola team selections ) and that some of the names are too big for him It’s all adding up mate

What do they expect when they keep collapsing like a pack of cards the spineless wankers, a bonus?

I think he was told before the forest game to win or that's it. I think he was also asked that if we did lose, rather than being straight sacked would he then carry on until possibly the international break after next weekend in a caretaker role. I can't imagine him refusing that. To help stop the hysteria, names and the situation would be filtered out to allow a more peaceful next home game and possibly swansea game while things are negotiated with new manager. That's how I see it now. I agree He's a caretaker manager.

Have to say surprised Moyes name is there. Assumed he wouldn't be interested. He rebuilt his reputation somewhat at West Ham. Him or Hughton please.

Lost the players? Those players need fucking off pronto. What a bunch of absolute arse holes they really are. If true of course... Hopefully we'll get a manager who has sufficient experience to come in, kick their arses and then fuck the vast majority of them off in January.

A very sad ending to something that, on paper, looked thoroughly exciting. It has to happen though, I'm devastated and was probably in the Jones In club for much longer than most, but even in my wildest dreams I don't envisage how Jones can salvage this. Moyes would be a good option. Might not be a great manager but would certainly get a tune out of this squad in this division. Not that long ago many of us were scoffing at the thought of Bilic taking over post-hughes but look at the job he's doing right now. We aren't in a position to scoff at anyone. I don't think we would be bottom of the league if Lambert or Rowett had stayed, (not saying that they SHOULD have stayed, but I don't think we would be struggling this badly). He completely fucked up the last transfer window, which I don't think any capable manager, say Moyes, Allardyce or Hughton would do. He actually made us worse with that window by losing Pieters and bringing in several average/poor players. I would take Moyes in a heartbeat.

It’s a bit like transfers in and out.....no one really knows
My theory is the “lunch” with PC on Thursday was more than that and they laid out a potential exit plan. Say what you like about the Coates family, but they tend to dispose of services in the correct manner.
Do prospective managers join a club on the up? No, because there wouldn’t be a vacancy.
It’s all about the level of risk versus likely success. We are punching well BELOW our weight and therefore may not like as unattractive as some think.
