Have been giving this a thought now, I've supported the club for 35 years and always will. I've just got to the point where going is a chore and even listening to the radio that we've lost again is really grating. This run has been going on a long time now. I actually can't remember anything like this in my time supporting the club. It must be almost 3 years of disaster, even at our lows we would win the odd game. Thinking of just packing it in for a few months and coming back at Christmas. Need a break from this misery.

I think all of us have done something similar at times. I used to get really excited if there was a big or important game coming up. I would read and follow every single news bulletin about player fitness or message board threads as part of the build up to the match, and was by then so up for it on the day that it was completely devastating when Stoke lost, as was often the case. I would then compensate by using reverse psychology and completely ignoring or avoiding any reference to the next upcoming match, even to the point sometimes of not knowing who the team were playing on the Saturday, in the vain belief that if I was totally oblivious to what was going on, Stoke might surprise me and actually win! That didn't work well either, so now I am much older and wiser and take each game as it comes, without the extreme highs and lows of emotion.
Don't think I'd actually give up following them though, even for a short spell. Remember that it has been said that you can change your wife, but not your football team!

Third season without a season ticket now after 25 or so years, and you know what's bothering me the most about not going? The fact that I'm not missing it and when I listen on the radio I find myself thinking, "you poor sods".

A true testament to a supporter is sticking with the club through the bad times to appreciate the good times when they come back.

I`ll never ever stop supporting or going to Stoke no matter what. To paraphrase Meat Loaf. "I'll never stop dreaming about you every night of my life. And I would do anything for Stoke but I won't do that."

Well if things carry on as they are by Christmas you'll be coming back to a Stoke team still bottom of the league and still on 1 point.
You may as well ride it out.

My exiled geographical position, the craziness of the money for the chosen few whilst other clubs languish on the cusp of extinction, the sterile atmosphere compared to the Vic and the current situation have all contributed to me feeling less than enthusiastic presently.

I think many fans are thinking along the same lines but there is always hope that things will improve when the board make the correct decision and get Windbag his P45.

I`ll never ever stop supporting or going to Stoke no matter what. Might be tricky when you have snuffed it, mind you it is akin to a graveyard down there at the moment.
