After going through our 2 PL seasons where Joe Allen was a Stoke player, I get the following result.... (remember he joined the season after our 3rd top ten finish in a row!)
Season 1 - 13th Games with Allen Played - 34 Points - 34 Pts Available - 102 % points achieved - 33% W - 8 L - 16
Games withOUT Allen Played - 4 Points - 10 Pts Available - 12 % points achieved - 84% W - 3 L - 0
Season 2 - ARGH! Games with Allen Played - 35 Points - 30 Pts Available - 105 % points achieved - 26% W - 6 L - 17
Games withOUT Allen Played - 3 Points - 3 Pts Available - 9 % points achieved - 33% W - 1 L - 2
Joe Allen - Unlucky Co-Incidence or....Cause of Our Demise?

There are not enough games there without Allen for the results to be statistically significant.
And yes I can see the irony of what I’ve just said there.

Above is spot on.
Fewer than 10% of the games without him and in any case he makes up fewer than 10% of the playing staff in any given game so nothing to see here one way or the other.

Not the cause of our demise, but a large contributory factor.

The better metrics to judge Allen by are that of his fellow Championship midfielders rather than wins and losses because as has been stated above the sample is so minute you can’t really take much from it. I posted some time ago a comprehensive list of Allen’s stats and where he ranked in the league and in every single one of them he ranked either in the middle of pack or in the bottom 7 of those playing over 20 games. (Around 55 players if memory serves) For his reputation, wage and purported importance to the team, he’s severely underperforming. N’Diaye did more in that 45 than I think I’ve ever seen Allen do in a game.
