No coffee needed, BCFC were poor. With 11 today we would have won, quite easily in my opinion. We’ve been really poor in most games this season, but actually did OK under the circumstances. Fortunately Allen will miss a few now, and Jones might stumble on a midfield of Etebo, Badou and Clucas, and I can see us starting to turn a corner. Derby QPR Charlton Birmingham etc etc were poor I’m not sure of your point My point is, we played OK today, and with 11 would have won. It’s not difficult. In other games we have been poor, granted, but not today.

It’s a weird one as I don’t think jones did that much wrong. We can argue that Allen shouldn’t have started and I’d probably agree. However we started well and deservedly went 1 up. If Maclean squares that ball its 2 and I honestly think even with 10 men we would have hammered them.
However we found ourselves losing AGAIN. I’m actually pig sick of it now.

Drilled into them yesterday should have been make no mistakes, keep switched on for a full 90 mins, no stupid sliding tackles and stay on your feet, don't give any silly free-kicks away anywhere in our half(because we are incapable of defending crosses) and we ticked none of those boxes and gave another team the 3 points without them having to do anything special - their own manager said they were awful.
2 goals had nothing to do with 11 v 10 just shite defending and 2 players being bullied out of the game.
Plus side - Etebo had a bit more game time and N'diaye looked arsed - 2 players that should be good enough for this division and some.
Downside the entire defence, not sure we have a decent defender in our squad, Bruno has to stay fit and be up for the fight and Butland has to have the season of his life, after that the choices are diabolical defensively.
Upfront Gregory looks ok and some nice touches, but is not a goal scorer - the only thing we can do is give Campbell a few more starts and hope he can find some form.
People said we played well yesterday, but for me it was hit and hopes into the box and no progressive play and the usual shite at the back - yes we put in the effort, but that should be a given.
I like the manager and he may one day make a decent one at this level, but to bring a manager in with no experience at this level or virtually no experience in management to a club this size and in a dreadful state was suicidal by the people that run the club. To keep him after his stats and results in the 2nd half of last season is just unforgivable and points to the backroom staff being utterly cluless and no finger on the pulse - there was just no need for us to be in this position.
I am giving Jones 10 out of 10 for having the courage to come out and have a go and for his passion and effort and the people who run the club minus 1 trillion

*4 - he keeps picking Allen and Ince in his starting eleven, too lightweight and ineffective, they must be wonderful in training. we started off well but I think we all knew by now it wouldn't last. There doesn't appear to be any logic to his constant tinkering with team selection It's a results game so it's time someone had the sense to put him out of his misery

8* Well balanced team selection, team clearly up for the fight, great performance from Badou, right subs at the right time. Undone by a poor challenge from Allen, dire ref and individual errors for the goals. Undone by selecting Allen in the first place. Just about anyone in the squad playing in that position would have been better. At we’ll know for sure if dropping Allen is the right thing to do because now he has not choice. -5 selecting Gregory to play up front by himself is really, really stupid. He does well at holding up the ball, but is pretty well useless if he doesn’t have anyone to lay it off to. He had a golden opportunity to score and failed to pull the trigger. Gregory and Hogan looked like a promising combination, but why he didn’t persist with it is a real head scratcher. -5 0

As a manager for this game I will give him a rating of 6. He can't have foreseen Allen doing what he did (short of not playing him) and whilst substitutions are key when you play 75+ minutes with 10 men no manager is going to pull the trigger before 60 minutes.
The issue for me is the constant theme of we played better but lost. And this is against also ran teams. Leeds spanked us and we've barely played any of the other genuine Top 10 sides. I fear some absolute maulings coming our way when we play Swansea, WBA, Cardiff, Fulham etc. We concede a couple each game 9at least) every team and have no clue how to win. We have a bunch of players who don't appear good enough for this league, key positions without specialist players and multiple changes each game. So as a manager overall he is lucky to get to zero at this point in time. It's not an accident waiting to happen - the accident has already happened and there's emergency response desperately needed.
I realise we only have to finish 21st (surely now the target for this season) but that genuinely looks difficult at this point.
