On northwest tonight there is research on stripes vs plain kits. apparently striped kits can have an advantage, however you have to be moving fast enough as it confuses the opponents. somebody might have to tell the lads to speed up a bit

last time a striped team won English top flight football title: Sunderland in the 1935/36 season
And I would also say our most successful side in recent times played with less stripes than any kit in recent times (the plain back kit)
😂

The most famous, and perhaps reassuring. event involving a very stripey side in red and white, Southampton, occured over 20 years ago. On 13th April 1996, Manchester United were having a nightmare against Southampton. After a horrible first 45 minutes at The Dell, they found themselves 3-0 down to the Saints, who were in the middle of a relegation dogfight. Utd were wearing a Grey strip and at the interval their players complained that they were not easily able to pick out colleagues on the pitch because of the colour of the strip. Alex Ferguson ordered them to change their strip to an alternative blue outfit and thats how they came out for the second half. It clearly worked, up to a point, as United scored, and then went on to lose 3-1. Yay!

Both teams could play in red and white stripes tomorrow and we'd still have players unable to pass the ball to someone in the same kit....

Bristol City's away strip this season is all black. We could hope that its already faded to grey in the wash. See above.

I had "go faster stripes" on my first ever car, an Escort MII.... Didn't make any difference, the only time I could get it to go faster was when going down bank.....out of gear!!!

At this point, I'd go for polka dots if I'd thought it would help.
