I was hoping Mr Coates would either make a reckless and unsubstantiated prediction of success this season or announce Nathan has been carted off to a corrective institution.

Coates doesn't seem to be offering anything more than dragging ourselves away from the bottom. I think he has written the season off in so much as anything that was originally hoped for. He's right on that much. It's not season ticket renewal time...I expect the empty promises will start again after Xmas. Until then they don't really want anything from us do they...

Its still August & we like what Nathan is doing & trying to achieve he has our full support. FFS he needs taking away by men in white coats he has completely lost the plot prepare for league 1 there is no way we can get out of this with the Coates family in charge. I understand that Smurthwaite is looking for a new club to take under his wing. Perhaps you should broker a deal between him and the Coates family?

coates will let Jones go on for another 4 or so games, if he fails to turn us around he’ll bring TP in. No he won't.

Did he also say he didn't know what went wrong with Rowett because he was a good appointment or words to that effect ?

Did he also say he didn't know what went wrong with Rowett because he was a good appointment or words to that effect ? Yes. They still haven't worked it out. Completely wasting £50m on average players that weren't suited to how he wanted to play was not obvious enough for them...

Did he also say he didn't know what went wrong with Rowett because he was a good appointment or words to that effect ? Yeah he said that everyone was telling him what a great decision he made in bringing Rowett in...and he’s still not sure why it went wrong under his managerial reign. If you don’t learn from your past mistakes, we all know where that gets you...

Talk is cheap...unless you’re doing it on the pitch where it counts for something.

The traditional vote of confidence.
When the Chairman has to publicly support the manager in this way, it tends to mean the manager is struggling.

What exactly do people expect him to say, it's all gone terribly wrong and doesn't appear to be working out so we've told him he need to win the next four.
I'm pretty sure Nathan knows exactly where he stands and what is expected out of the next five games, as soon as that is not achievable then we'll find out exactly what the board have been thinking.
It's the old fashioned vote of confidence, turn it round all else.

The traditional vote of confidence. When the Chairman has to publicly support the manager in this way, it tends to mean the manager is struggling. That kind of goes wothout saying. But equally, if we'd not heard from him I'm fairly sure people would have said that the silence from the owners is deafening. If I was Jones, I'd feel quite reassured by Coates' words. He doesn't usually sack managers after backing them, unless things get a lot worse. He's safe for now.

Exactly. Poor defeat on Saturday and he’ll be gone. I think he'll get Brentford as well, as pointless as that would be (literally pointless)

I think he'll get a few more games even if he loses because we do have a solution. I know not everyone likes it but TP would be here tomorrow if we asked him and we would stop us from being relegated. I think Peter knows this which means it actually gives Jones more time.

The big lesson of late is "don't delude yourself" in the face of ignorance. Be humble. Trust the superior knowledge and skills of others. Don't delude yourself that losing good players doesn't matter, that you should fuss when your PL existence is in threat because of long standing trends that you are not abating, that the Championship is easier, that it doesn't matter than a manager has no experience of the league to succeed in it. That you can buy half baked second rate players and mould a promotion chasing team with a new system they've barely seen. That fans should give unquestioning support to this nonense.
Here we have an old idiot and a young idiot deluding themselves like a pair of starry eyed meths drinkers on the last subway train home.
They are deluded, ultimately, to think anyone might give an ounce of credibility to their senseless gibberish. The pair of them are clueless, way way way out of their depth; arrogance, ignorance and delusion is their best response to dynamics so far out of their ability to comprehend and manage, its truly scary. The most worrying interview yet.

Things must be going badly, we've reached the point where literally anything that anybody associated with the running of the club says in the press is met with outrage.

Mr, Coates is under writing £200 million of debt so we'd better be nice to him. Nathan comes across as a bona fide lunatic, a total nut job, howling at the moon. He's not normal that's for sure. He constantly talks weird shit bollocks. He needs a new prescription
