It helps when the opposition are giving him a lot more time on the ball.

Wow, the hate for Joe on here is pretty strong. One of our (better and nost committed) players gets the Captain's armband for his country and just gets abuse. Sad times.

Because he actually tries to read the match and doesn't bound around like a rabbit for the cymraeg. For stoke he is a liability this season. Bit harsh. Most of the time he just seems to be trying to do everyone else’s job for them. Did the same on affidavit with Wales and was everywhere. He was much more composed last night so I suspect he was told to rein it in. Most of the time he's out of position and ruins our midfield shape. For Wales he's a different player, for Stoke he is the main culprit for weak midfield shape.

I’m sure he’s not doing it on purpose so maybe we need to look at what he’s been told to do.

Watch him for Stoke. He'll unravel the Wales one off to chase shadows and not tackle next match. Just like the countless times on display this season. To think he was once PL quality is cringeworthy of a fall from form unfitting for any player but it is what it is.

And I’m saying he was dreadful for Wales on Friday but then like a different player yesterday and I imagine he was given specific instructions after Friday. Who knows what we tell him. He can’t be deliberately ignoring instructions if he gets picked week after week. None of them are tackling they seem to have been told to chase people at random. I think they call it “pressing” these days...it’s all just a bit shit.

Clucas is just as bad. He just disappears and it’s less obvious than with Joe as Joe is just absolutely everywhere except where he needs to be. Clucas you just forget he’s playing as he does a disappearing act. I was really surprised last night by the difference from Friday. I turned the game on expecting little Joe to be popping up on every single fucking screen shot again and he wasn’t. He was composed and disciplined. Hopefully someone can get him to do that for Stoke.

Ahh didn't work for Stoke again. Joe needs to go. We're better without him. His fee would get us another N'Diaye.
