30 years since we drew 0-0 at Wolves when Statham missed a penalty. Significant because the missed penno was the moment we realised we had problems. Pre season optimism had converted to anxious glances towards Burslem and seeing our neighbours holding their own didn't help our mood. We desperately needed some wins.... with a team unequipped to win.

I saw George Berry getting into a fracas with Wolves supporters in the John Ireland Stand that game. Very strange place with one modern stand and 2 old stands that looked like buildings in the wild west. Horrible place inside and out.

Home to Oxford and away to Leeds spring to mind.

Very hairy outside, and on the South Bank I’ve never seen so many coins rain down. Shane Wesley broke Ian Scott’s leg and you just knew when Wolverhampton born Statham took the penalty he’d miss. Despite it being a relegation season it was strangely galvanising for the fans.

Guess that was the time they overtook us for a bit so the local media jumped on the bandwagon.
Remember the first Derby them having one disallowed and Ronnie Jepson (with his Stoke tattoo) missing a sitter right at the end. Think we were winless at that point

This is a subtle 'preparing for relegation' thread isn't it?
