Federici Smith Collins Batth BMI McClean Etebo Woods Clucas Vokes Gregory I really don't get why Butland would retain his place after another disastrous performance and Federici looking so solid last time out. If your keeper is looking flakey it runs through the defence and conceding becomes inevitable. He has to get his confidence back without it affecting the first team. Personally I wouldn't have on the bench at the moment - something is not right. I don't disagree too much with your team but I don't think it's at all accurate to describe Butland's performance last night as disastrous. Yes, he made a bad kick which led to a goal because the Stoke player it hit wasn't watching the ball and it happened to rebound straight to the Leeds player who was well beyond the back line when it might have gone anywhere. An element of bad luck. But he didn't have a bad game, made a couple of decent saves, and showed his bottle and confidence taking the 5th penalty. His interview posted on here showed maturity and honesty in my view and no evidence of lack of confidence. That said, I expect Federici to retain his place on Saturday.

He's got away with a few flat kicks recently, his mind is elsewhere and I can't blame him. A few more games out will do him and our team the world of good. Then he can return and get back to his best.

what has scott hogan done wrong. just settling in with a couple of goals under is belt and gets left out. we never seem to have a settled side. hogan and campbell will both notch more goals than gregory.

I think Butland is a decent bloke but his game is all over the place at the moment and it's affecting the rest of the team - especially the defence. When we concede from yet another howler you can see the confidence evaporate from everybody. He needs time out of the first team to sort himself out - we simply can't use game time for Butland's personal rehabilitation - it's not fair on him or his teammates.

The team that played at Leeds was shattered after an hour and conceded two goals.
All of the old frailties remained.

He’s going to lose it. He’ll be off to vacuum the red carpet after he’s picked himself up off the floor 😂

Powell seemingly still not fit, Collins and Butland have knocks, Clucas could be rested, Badou needs easing back in (maybe from the bench) and Bruno may not be up to two games in a week right now.
Federici
Carter Vickers Batth Lindsay
Edwards Woods Etebo Ince McClean
Hogan Gregory
Subs: Davies, Smith, Allen, Badou, Duffy, Vokes, Campbell

If he doesn't make at least ten changes and doesn't create a new variant to the diamond, we know he's at the end of his spectrum of ideas and is in a deep personal crisis...
Just keep Campbell in and then anyone else who hasn't had a game in the last four days; that'll be true to form. Oh and make sure Verlinden comes on at the beginning of the second half whatever the score.

What amazes me is people still picking Butland even though he gave away another howler which then put us under massive pressure.
Are people really picking him over taking a penalty? Something he will never do in a league game?

Is he planning on going all season with this mad chopping and changing ? 👀 At some point he’s going to have to settle on a preferred starting 11, surely ? I’ve never known a manager to change things so drastically so often, it’s crazy.

I’ve never known a manager to change things so drastically so often, it’s crazy. Well...if he plays by the "you're supposed to" rules that most everybody else does, then he'll settle on his perfect 11 soon. If he follows his own rules, and he has so far, then he'll keep changing just to keep the opposition manager and the likes of you and me totally in the dark as to what we'll line up. That sort of style has something to be said for, but, it would benefit greatly if one or more, preferably all of them, of his many line ups actually turned out to be winners.

His interview posted on here showed maturity and honesty in my view and no evidence of lack of confidence. That said, I expect Federici to retain his place on Saturday. I am always reminded of what Arnold Palmer said when asked if he wasn’t a bit lucky after chipping in to win the Open. “It’s funny, the more I practice the luckier I get”. Ain’t no such thing as luck, unless you believe in Santa Claus and fairies at the bottom of the garden.

I'm in favor of using the same 11 from Tuesday.
Were in last place, seriously just play the team that recently played well and see what happens

It's a big dramatic time to see if we've reached the point where we actually win a bloody league game.
