Leeds were class after they got the first goal. Better than any team we played last season with some of their one touch passing. Think they will win the league this time round. And god, how I envy them having a team like that!!! We've been crying out for youth and pace for years, so what do we bring in!!! Personally, I'm not sure if the majority of signings this season are Jones's, I just don't know??? Either he's brought shit, or the club have tied his hands......did we really need 11 new signings, or would we have been better off just adding 3 or 4 (championship) quality signings for that little bit extra??? Leeds have a relatively young side who are sharp, fook may, is that really to much to ask???

They were all over us like a cheap suit before the goal...the goal was inevitable. Also inevitable was the subsequent capitulation....things really are quite dire

Don't think youthfulness is a reason mate.

There first goal, McClean was beaten for pace, and McClean seems to be one of the only ones putting the effort in at the mo!!!

They should all be back in training Sunday morning - they all need to sort this shambles out. I would respect them if they ended up having an all-in punch-up, but I don't think they could be bothered.
What a clueless, brain-dead, piss-and-wind bunch!

A lack of pace I agree with. It's glaringly obvious to everyone mate. My opinion about that goal is that McClean wasn't at fault. Lindsay should've been there. I'd love to blame McClean but I can't. Actually in all of this debacle, Jimmy Mac is one of only two or three who can truly say they're trying.

No, you're quite right, Lindsey should have been there, there's even an argument that Carter-Victors should have been there or thereabouts also, I don't think McClean was at fault at all.... I'm just saying that when the ball was played across on their first, pace played a major factor, and we have none!!! And I really thought (during preseason) that pace would have been something that Jones would have been looking to bring in!!!

When Jones didn’t buy any there were loads of people on here saying it’s fine you get pace from passing the ball faster... all well and good until you don’t have the fucking ball 😂

They were average for 35 minutes, but still created a good chance. It was in all honesty a top top tactical display. Keep it tight first half, take the sting out of the team and their fans. If we pinch one great. Open up second half. We were done. Tactically. Ability wise. Everything. They were better all over. They were "average for 35 minutes" because they knew perfectly well they didn't have to make any effort to win. Around 30 minutes my son said "we're matching them" and I said "yes, but when they decide to, they will just step it up and we will have no answer" I didnt want to be right but I knew I would be.

I don't think just having loads of kids is going to fix things. Jones picked youngsters yesterday. Bielsa has coached them to play a certain way.

What hurts is that I already have lost faith in any hope of promotion and is anxious if we'll go down. This only after 5 league games as well!

I think it's more pace that I'm screaming out for to be honest phil, for years now we've looked so slow......when the opposition has the ball, they seem to attack with fluency.....when we get the ball it slows right down, and no new manager ever seems to address it!!!

Exactly, they expected an onslaught and set up to be cautious and draw the sting out of the game. Once they got 1 up it was as though they realised they had little to fear and took off the shackles clear in the knowledge that we were not mobile enough, competent enough and hungry enough to pose them any threat if they became more expansive.

Yeah that is a weird one. Stoke fans disagree on literally everything. If there is one thing all of us have agreed, for about 4 years now, is that we have team that needs more pace. It is shocking that successive managers have completely failed to address that problem.

What hurt today is that we didn't lay a glove on them. We didn't get near a single one of their players all afternoon. I don't know the stats but did we make any tackles at all in midfield? Did we commit any fouls? Not many because we didn't get a single booking. Forshaw ran the game like an American Football Quarterback in a little pocket of space which all our players seemed to be scared to enter. But he wasn't alone. Every single one of their players had time on the ball. Contrast that to us in possession they closed us down in two's and three's. No effort or fight. That's what hurt.
