Oh yeah, the guy that did nothing for scfc in the last 3 years. What a player. you're funny or stupid or possibly both. Now I know its friday 13th but when muckspreader calls somebody stupid, that somebody is most definitely unfortunate. It's like fred west calling someone a very real & dangerous threat to society

188 games in 9 seasons. Played about 60% of minutes last year, in what was the season in which he made his third most appearances. Hardly a surprise he is injured/unfit. He was free for a reason. Anyhow, good job we've got two players per position (and we had 3 in some cases) given the likelihood of this happening. Wonder if NJ will go for Verlinden or Bojan at CAM instead given that noone in the right mind would still persist with Ince in that position? Or Duffy? This strikes me as an odd one - Duffy arrived hailed as a play-making Messiah, universally loved by all at Sheffield, they were gutted he left and yet he can't get a look-in here... Actually, reading that back, it's not odd at all, it's completely in line with NJ's words vs deeds to date.

“He had an excellent pre-season and was really productive, but first game of the season he was singled out for a little bit of treatment and that sort of caused him the (calf) problem he had and we haven’t seen him since.
“It’s been frustrating for me because within the system he was one I wanted to play." “In theory, he should be back for next week. In reality, we will have to wait and see."
Does this mean he is not at the club?

That's very disappointing. And entirely as predicted he's a walking sick note. He's possibly our one source of hope when he does play.

I will be disappointed if he isn't playing tomorrow as I think we play better with him in the starting 11.

Why did he sign Duffy as a replacement if he's not going to play him?
Played a massive part in Sheff U going up last year so surely he should be seeing some more game time

noone in the right mind would still persist with Ince in that position? . You can play Ince in the position but then you'd have to change the role. Ince only plays for Ince United, but given that he's is one of our topscorers, albeit not with much, there perhaps should be an Ince in the team for now. He can be our shadow striker, an apt description for a player we hardly see when he's playing for us.

Ince stats per position:- Games, Goals, Assists and Goals or Assists per game RW 162 45 24 = 0.42 LW 111 31 30 = 0.55 AM 36 3 3 = 0.17 So you could play him there, but would be waiting 6 games on average for something productive - about 3 times longer than when played as a winger.

You've got him nailed, but it's 0.17 more often that he will score than our main striker, Gregory. So there is a case for playing him as a shadow.

Funny how the calf problem is now related to the treatment dished out by QPR when at the time they said it was an unrelated injury didnt they?
Doesn't matter how good the lad is, its already turned into a bit of a joke hasnt it, played an hour then its always, " fit next week ". Just another bizarre decision to base your team around a guy who is clearly never going to play consistently.

Now we are hoping ince can play and be effective as a number 10. If only someone had mentioned vydra during the summer 😁 I knew this would happen. We needed a shit hot number 10 more than a gayle.
