It’s as simple as that really. 13 conceded in 5 games, still unable to score at the other end when it really matters. We are an utter embarrassment. Aside from Leeds, we have dropped points against the utter average teams in this division. I’m not one to walk out but as soon as that third went I had to leave.
I can take losing but I can’t take embarrassing results like this. It’s gone too far. I don’t think it’s all down to Jones and there are deeper issues but for the here and now he must go. He has to. That record is just appalling and no matter what people say about him needing time and turning it around, I don’t see it happening. We are gone and off to League One if this carries on.
Two years ago we were in the Premier League. Today we have a chancer making it up as he goes along. If we are to stabilise, we need to change things very quickly.

Yep, it feels like everyone else is playing football, and we're just trying to play something else.
I can't remember the last time I saw us produce a coherent performance

Yep, it feels like everyone else is playing football, and we're just trying to play something else. I can't remember the last time I saw us produce a coherent performance Leeds only had to turn up today. As early as five minutes in I turned to my mate that Leeds just knew what they were doing. They don’t have to bust a gut to beat us, just play their system and pick us off. We were never anywhere near them, no matter how long it was 0-0 for. As soon as they scored we were beaten. He might say he made the changes we wanted but there’s a way to do it and that wasn’t it.

I think simply we have had a few really poor managers, and we have not been coached or drilled very well, and the players being brought in don't create a balanced side. I don't think football is complicated, I just think we've had in rowett and jones two clueless managers who can't spot a player

Preston fans were taking in the piss out of our goalkeeping clangers and missed placed passes and Leeds fans were singing the 'sacked in the morning' song today. When you are as shite as we are these days you have to have a thick skin I'm afraid.

I thought they looked poor to begin with but they soon sussed us out and by the end they looked really good, their passing in and around our box was first class, they picked us apart at times.

As an exile living in an area where supporting Stoke is seen as a bit eccentric, and not being able to seek refuge in the collective misery of SoT, I’m not sure what’s worse: the pisstaking banter from top six glory hunting ‘fans’ (or these days, Lincoln City fans!) or the concerned and polite enquiries from neutrals who ask what on earth is going wrong at Stoke. Actually, I do know - the latter is much worse!

We ran out of steam before half time. Are our players as fit as those from other teams?

We should not be letting that leeds team come here and do anything like that. Yeah we shouldn’t be but to say Leeds are a poor side is as embarrassing as our performance was. Leeds were everything we weren’t. First off they no doubt have better players now that we’ve restyled the team with bang average championship players but apart from that they were organised and every one of them put a shift in that put most of ours to shame. The were harassing our players whenever they had the ball whilst we let theirs stroll about and pick their passes. Also whilst we laboured about running up blind alleys theirs were one touch pass and move carving us open. If we want to succeed at this level then we had it laid before us today exactly what is needed. BM

When fans of other clubs ask me that, they assume stoke are like Sunderland, serious financial problems, no money to spend on players etc. When you tell them we've spent shit loads last season, and we still can't get a performance together, they are as mystified as I am.

I watched my rugby team at Wembley today and was reminded what joy sport can be. SCFC however are a constant source of misery - it’s gone far beyond chance , somebody has got to take a grip and get something sorted.

I’ve calmed remarkably over the years but I could just go out and kick someone’s head in. And I know how pathetic that sounds but that’s how it’s making me feel. (Obviously if there was a small bloke about )

I am often at a loss to explain what the problem is and just end up being embarrassed in any discussion of Stoke. Like you say, people are keen to draw analogies with Sunderland, but we are nothing like them. They were in decline for at least five years before they actually fell out of the Prem, plus all the bad publicity surrounding their board’s handling of the Adam Johnson case. In 2016 we were ninth in the football pyramid and regarded as one of the best run clubs in the country. Now we are 44th and fast turning into a laughing stock.

Even the most placid fan around me were today just screaming abuse. People walking out the ground not caring who they barge into as they are so wound up. I feel a drubbing at Birmingham next week could cause an absolute riot. It’s got the makings of an absolute battlefield

Leeds are a poor side in a poor championship. And we lost. Leeds were in third gear today and they still won comfortably, to call them a poor side is ridiculous. They’re quality and managed by a veritable managerial icon.
