Jones should stick to what he knows best. There were many positives to take from his diamond formation he was using and it was only slight tweeks which were needed. Today he has given in to peer pressure and made too many changes, it's desperate and it never works.

Surly the thread title should be, "Jones, stick your system up your arse "

Stick to your system which none of our players know how to play. Wonder how well that will work out?

His system hasn't worked from day 1 at Brentford and doesn't look like it ever will. He didn't have the players for it then and he doesn't now despite signing 11.
We still have an unbalanced squad after all these signings, it's quite ridiculous

I've said similar. We played ok v Charlton and derby and hes banged the drum about individual errors costing us...then he rips up the system and we are lucky not to concede 5 or 6.
If he believes in his work, which he says he does, then he has to stick to his principles.
Yet again it just looks like we've made poor signings. Davies, lindsay, Smith, etc are simply not good enough.

I'm not sure any system would have saved us today. We might have been hammered by more with the diamond.

Stick to your system which none of our players know how to play. Wonder how well that will work out? Bar a few individual errors which had nothing to do with the system itself, it went pretty well.

I am at a loss as to what we should do with this lot, to be honest.

I confess I never knew, in all my years here, that we had such a rule. I've just never felt the need to swear in thread titles. I save my swearing for inside the thread.Actually, it's just that I'm not really one of those bastard sweary types.

Anyone still trotting out this nonesense is deluded. If we’d played that today Leeds would have absolutely had a field day.

Stick to your system which none of our players know how to play. Wonder how well that will work out? Bit like the system the fans wanted them to play today. The saying " be careful what you wish for" has never been more appropriate than it is today. The fans had their Christmas list come true today and look how well that went. I hope he goes back to what he was working with and let the players learn from their mistakes through hard work and better positioning. I would rather we were doing more cynical fouls rather than letting teams just break on us. There are things Jones can do with his system, and making big changes when there are few training days between matches will only confuse everyone like it did today.

He might as well. He's tried everything else. Trouble is, he'd still pick the wrong players for it.

We don’t have the 2 for that even. Lack of a beast of a DM is the biggest killer this last window.

The only defence I can put up for Jones is that hes been expected to deliver promotion whilst Shopping in the bargain basement due to the failings of those before him. I like Gregory but we are the biggest club hes played for at the highest level hes played at. We arent promotion contenders with forward options of Hogan, Gregory vokes and Campbell and that is before you get to the 6 midfield options, only 1 of which is fit for purpose.

I think his idea was to try and shut up shop against an extremely good Leeds side.
Back fired.
Heindsight is a wonderful thing, but he tried something, it didn't work. Players needed dropping.
We move onto the next (league) game and we go again.
When he gets the team and system right we've got the squad to tear up teams. More patience required.

His ring doughnut formation is horrendous. With the massive void in the middle of the pitch it would make Maldini and Cannavaro look dodgy.

His system is fucking bollocks and will see him getting sack (and us getting more fucked than we are at the moment).
Is he intelligent enough to sack it off (in all its forms) though and save both his job and our blushes?
I genuinely don't know where we go from here. Sack another manager and it's back to square one. Don't sack another manager and it's back to League One.
What a fucking mess.

I'm not sure any system would have saved us today. We might have been hammered by more with the diamond. For the umpteenth time, he DID play the diamond midfield today. Cousins Etebo Clucas Duffy It was only a slight tweak from his usually formation in that he played an extra defender for a striker but the midfield diamond was there until the 55th minute like it always has been.
