Why would he not, what a stupid comment. So Jones stays and Verlinden comes back to play in a system that doesn't allow for wingers? It's really not that stupid. He wouldn't get a choice of coming back or not he's a Stoke player, none of us know what Jones plans to do with him do we.

He wouldn't get a choice of coming back or not he's a Stoke player, none of us know what Jones plans to do with him do we. Not very much as evidenced by the fact he's bought two No.10s and plays Tom Ince. I really don't understand why anyone thinks if Collins, Edwards, Campbell and Verlinden don't get a proper chance here and quickly that they'll be wanting to stick around next season. It's not a very attractive position is it - not getting a chance after a MOTM performance, the manager playing a system that doesn't suit you, the manager buying another RB to replace you. The difference between these guys and the players we have are that other people will want them and if a good offer comes in and the manager isn't playing them the club can't afford to turn it down.

Jones is comparable with Rowett now in that everything he says annoys me, in fact I don’t care if he’s a nice bloke and that he goes to church, so does fat Alan who lives few doors down from me, coincidentally he knows nothing about football also.

This lad is a real talent and should be playing. He's skilful, pacy and feisty.
Play the system that suits the players you have. In other words ditch the stupid diamond

Name me a manager who, in the midst of a poor run, decides to blood youngsters ? We are in a pretty unique position that three of our biggest problems are our three most experianced players. Butland, Batth and Allen. All are costing us on a regular basis, all have been shit and all need bombing out. If this a patience thing and he's going nowhere, the club as a whole will find the fans have a lot more patience in a team that has Collins, Edwards, Verlinden & Campbell in it and I'm personally positive that the side would be miles better for it anyway, than it is with the current wankers. Dont totally disagree but he’s just signed an entire team worth of players, it would look a bit poor if after 4 games he brings in 3 or 4 youth graduates when we’re desperate for a win. People always call out “give the youth a chance” when we go through a bad patch but invariably these youngsters never go on to do much when they leave stoke, do they ?... not saying that will be the case with these players, but how many go on to better things ? Most of the better youngsters are picked up by the big boys in this area, we end up with the crumbs.

This amazes me because I thought this would be his breakthrough year with us🙄 Baffling. More reason to lose faith with him.

I'm backing jones, but my patience is wearing thin, he is in great danger of being the fourth stoke manager who i wanted gone not so much over results, but because of stubborn, illogical, and generally poor treatment of talented wide players. Verlinden is the latest in a line of under utilised potential match winners who have struggled to even make the bench. Confidence players, who have it beaten out of them by being constantly overlooked for journeyman, just because they were not bought by the manager in question.
I don't go to matches to watch the likes of Clucas, if the team sheet is devoid of entertaining talent then i am deflated in enthusiasm and hope before a ball is kicked.

Somewhat sadly, I have a feeling Verlinden might be this season's Julien Ngoy.

It's a patience thing.
Lee Chapman was a bit sh#t when he first played for us Steve Bould was f#cking shocking And Bracewell ran around a lot to no great effect
Very different story once they started learning there trade though
If we actually played Collins, Edwards, Campbell and verlinden they would learn and they would improve
According to Tony Scholes and all and Sundry, one of these guys, has to come through big time, just to balance the books at Stoke City
So play them and sign 4 less players of higher quality to play alongside them. Have less senior pros, of a higher quality on the payroll and more youngsters comming through.
For the wages of hogan, vokes, Gregory and Duffy, you could play Dwight gayle or charlie Austin, alongside Campbell and still be quids in.

The club keep saying they’re managing young talent but I think that’s bullshit to be honest. Dropping him after Reading wasn’t good management - if he plays well, play him again. Ryan Sessegnon has over 100 games under his belt already at 19 or so because he was played. Our 22 year olds are getting loaned to non-league.

Imagine spunking all of that money on the academy and then when it actually starts producing decent players, not using them.
Banter.
