The blame for the last 3 years sits squarely on his shoulders.Relegation, stagnation, managers have come and gone, players come and .....well been devalued until they are unsaleable, match day experience none existent, scapegoat recruitment Director gone, club rotten to the core, on his watch. Any other business would have found “ new challenges” for him to move onto now.
Making Jez Moxey look competent, that takes some doing!

Totally agree!!! Moxey as you said was more then bad enough but this Teflon creature is summit else! I would sack him alone for his comments on the Radio when he talked about flags and players and they watched targets 20 odd times.... Some one fibbing when Wimmer hadn't played that many games probably for Spurs first and reserves but was valued at £18m!! The list is endless of failures, but he's still which beggars the question.... What about the board!!

He’s realised he’s next which is why he’s pulled his finger out but it’s too little too late

Wonder what Coates would think if the sack the board/Scholes chants start to ring out. He loves a patsy does Mr Coates, just how safe is Scholes?

Bored of the Scholes criticism if I’m honest.
Yes he needs fucking off, but honestly we’ve got a squad of players out there that should be winning games, no ifs and no buts. Naff all to do with Scholes is that ....

Prestwichpotter, agree re the squad of players, but I can’t help but think something toxic must be going on behind closed doors. Clearly nobody goes to work at Stoke with a spring in their step, somethings not right with the atmosphere at the whole club. I can’t blame the owners, they have spent plenty of money, however, they are being let down badly by their management team. Put a Daniel Levy type character in charge, and the whole club may start pulling in a single direction.

Scholes should have gone a long time ago but as soon as Coates first started going on about being ‘self sustainable’ the death knell was rung

While Coates is beyond criticism for me, he has never liked criticism from the stands. A show of discontent from the faithful against Scholes and or the board would give Mr Coates a real head ache, he can’t keep on sacking managers, but clearly something at the club is not healthy despite all their protests that it is a well run club

The irony of self sustainable is palpable, to do that we need a well run club, constantly innovating to make the match experience outstanding and keep people spending. A manager who will trust youth, a world class academy, player development to allow for a couple of key sales a season, and we needed to maintain premiership status. We couldn’t get any further away!

Pointless witch hunt. Does Scholes need put his boots or tracksuit on, you can’t blame him for experienced, well paid players making mistakes. Do you think if we sacked him last week Jack Butland wouldn’t have fucked up tonight ? Concentrate on the playing issues and the constant changing of formation and personnel rather than carrying on the pointless blame game behind the scenes

The only way I can see a possible fix here is with this deluded fuckwit booted out of the club and a new management structure placed below the Coates family.
its not 100% teflon Tony's fault but I feel he is a major part of the problems at the club.

Not sure you can put the blame on scholes, he doesn’t decide which players to sign does he ? He doesn’t pick the manager, does he ? ... doesn’t he basically just negotiate the deals after a player has been identified by the manager ?
Not saying he’s blameless but it Seems like he’s being scapegoated here a bit.
