If people genuinely believe posters are attacking Sol Campbell just because he's black, name and shame them. This thread could be constructive but scatter gun accusations have derailed it.

Deserves a shot in League 1/Championship after the job he did at Macc, listening to his interview on TS a few month ago he seems to be an intelligent bloke and his results at Macc suggest he's a decent man-manager too.
A full season in the championship at the likes of Wednesday or Huddersfield is a different challenge however given they will be expecting success rather than survival.
It'll be interesting to see how he gets on.

So, Andy, let's say we sack Jones next week and PC unveils Sol as the new Manager..... you'll stop going to games ? That's a fairly loaded question, and a fairly wank one at that. I didn't like Rowett, thought he was a twat, didn't stop me going. I didn't like Alan Ball or Mick Mills thought they were arrogant twats, didn't stop me going Even Pulis first time around and into his second term until he became an utter tool didn't stop me. If you are asking to remind me of the time I boycotted home games then it is irrelavant. If Campbell comes to Stoke he will get the same chance Nathan Jones has been afforded, perhaps a bit more for positive discrimination purposes and so some faceless entity like SpittheDog can't accuse me of being racist. In general u don't need to like someone to give them a chance. The minute they turn on the fans is when they have no rights! H Wasn't intended to be loaded, was a straightforward one ( or meant to be ) However a very fair and comprehensive response, and without a single bit of swearing, too. You're getting soft, matey :-)

Can I just point out that I personally know 2 members of last seasons Macc team, who also have not been paid any wages since April. The owner is a shithouse and they consider that Campbell has a race agenda, so stop all this PC bollocks. Prove that you know 2 Macc players who say that Sol Campbell has got a race agenda. If you are going to make such an accusation, then prove it. Don't hide behind your anonymity if you are going to make accusations like that. Everyone knows that Macc players have not been paid, it's in the news. 6 of them are taking them to court. Most of the players who have not been paid have left, so what do you think of them? You don't seem to be aware of that which is a bit strange since you supposed to know them and they give you all this amazing inside info. Send me the names of the Macc players you know by PM. Are you sure you are not the one with the race agenda? What do you mean by race agenda anyway? Does it refer to someone who calls out the issue when they feel they have been a subjected to it? Bit intimidating aren’t you , a typical example of a keyboard warrior who likes to bully ppl online

Bit intimidating aren’t you , a typical example of a keyboard warrior who likes to bully ppl online I don't consider trying to establish facts as bullying. The initial post includes an accusation allegedly made by players, but it doesn't quite add up so I am questioning it. The Macclesfield players who were not paid issued a joint statement through a lawyer and commenced with legal action over non-payment. I'd be surprised if they would be making these kind of rash comments to their mates while that is in process (adjourned until September) and then I'd be even more surprised if they were happy about that mate then posting those comments online. If the players had issues with Campbell they had a funny way of showing it (improving their performance levels dramatically under his management despite not getting paid!) Interestingly, the person who has come in for all the criticism for leaving his job, has decided not to take legal action against the club despite non-payment over several months. So you could argue why the players aren't coming in for a similar level of criticism?

Even his good pal Ray Parlour criticised his attitude to management jobs and he knows him slightly better than us.

Obviously you'd need to interview him but with what we know and how we judge folk from their interviews, how they play and their media work, Campbell never struck me as someone you'd think would become a manager. Absolutely fuck all to do with his skin colour. Just like Beckham never came across that way. Obviously that means fuck all because it is a very superficial point to be judging from but that's what we have.
Campbell did a cracking job at Macc and that will rightly get him interviews.

Wonder if there are any championship clubs willing to take a punt on Sol. It would certainly raise a clubs profile in the current climate🤔

Macclesfied, Southend - he does seem to go to 'basket case' clubs where you just know it won't end well (and would be unlikely to end well for anyone).
Are they the only jobs he can get or is he just attracted to chaos?

Good defender in hi time, maybe as defensive coach. If he makes the same impact John Terry’s having at Villa we can’t go wrong😉

He makes a valid point. I think it’s incredibly unfair for lower league managers who have vast experience in management to get bypassed because they haven’t played in the Prem. It must be frustrating to see Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney etc getting big jobs with no management experience. Fair play to John Terry (as much as I dislike him on a personal level for his apparent prejudices) he is learning his trade as an assistant rather than getting Chelsea after 1 season in management. Why does Sol Campbell think he’s got a God given right to a higher level job?

Why does Sol Campbell think he’s got a God given right to a higher level job? None of the three you mentioned have done bad jobs to be fair. That’s true, not catastrophic anyway. Lampard got sacked at Chelsea, Gerrard is managing to do a good job in a poor league, but good job nonetheless, and Rooney has kept Derby steady ish. I get the guy tweeting is by all accounts not a good manager, and I can see Sol Campbells point about his experiences in management compared to those I listed, the glaring difference being race, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that’s why he hasn’t had as high profile job as them. Maybe that is why, but without knowing the inner workings of all the clubs I certainly couldn’t say with any confidence that his skin colour has any bearing.
