Jack Nowell starts in every game from now on. He offers more than Watson, simply.

All Blacks thrash Namibia 71-9, and France just scrape a win against Tonga 23-21.
Typical France, they looked good in patches and fairly toothless for some of the game. Tonga needed to be a little more disciplined and they could have won today. England "should" beat the French next week but we need to continue to improve our game as the tournament progresses. If we beat France it currently looks like Australia in the Q-F, and if we win that then it could be NZ in the S-F.

The French with a typically French performance today. Brilliant for 20/30 minutes, then a complete unorganised outfit for the rest.

Scotland possibly knocked out because of a typhoon. The fact the typhoon is nearly called typhoon haggis adds to the tale.

I don't think this is good for the integrity of the tournament, they should have tried to move the games.

I don't think this is good for the integrity of the tournament, they should have tried to move the games. It’s absurd isn’t it. Apparently it’s in the rules of the tournament though - if a game can’t take place for whatever reason it is cancelled and 2 points awarded per team; it cannot be moved to another venture or postponed. I suspect it’s a rule that will be changed after this tournament.

World Rugby are saying that Scotland signed the agreement over the rules knowing full well about the possible cancellations and the points allocation. The Scots really don't have an argument as it's in the rules, although I don't suppose they expected to be in this situation as they wouldn't have anticipated that Japan would beat Ireland.

I suspect it’s a rule that will be changed after this tournament. It's daft, surely they should find a way of playing the games somewhere, even if it's behind closed doors. What if it was a knock-out match affected? Then it would be moved so why is it different now? I know cricket matches get classed as draws if they're called off but that's partly due to the length of a cricket match. I'd have been confident of England beating France but at least we avoid picking up any knocks, hopefully Georgia gave the Aussies a physical match earlier and they picked up a few bruises. I can see the Scottish point of view- yes, they were aware of the ruling but there's been no precedent for this and for me it's about the integrity of the competition.

I'm not sure about this head impact rule, the Irish player stoops into the impact yellow for the Samoan. Then a red for an Irish player,it's not for me as for the TMO it's being over used in this tournament.

Then a red for an Irish player,it's not for me as for the TMO it's being over used in this tournament. I agree - I've seen quite a few instances in games where prior to the World Cup the referee would have made a decision but now similar type tackles or collisions are almost instantly referred to the TMO. Are they just trying to be ultra-correct and avoiding any accusations about dubious decisions, or is it just that World Rugby have decided this is how things are going to be from now on. Either way, I preferred things the way they were before.

I'm sure it is very non PC - but I found myself shouting "Banzai!" at the telly as Japan scored their 3rd try. I'm not anti Scottish - I have Scottish blood in my ancestry and I have a soft spot for all the home countries when they are not facing England. But Japan and their supporters have been a breath of fresh air in this World Cup and they deserve a chance at the knockout stages.

Japan looking comfortable at half time - Scotland are pretty poor aren't they. I don't mind the Scots or Ireland when they're not playing England but I always want the Welsh to lose - I just can't abide the team or the supporters.
