Awful first half here, 1 effort on target between the 2 sides, James Vaughan is up front for Bradford. And there's drums ...
On the plus side you get a tray full of chips for £1
The new stand behind the goal is almost finished, don't think many will occupy it.
No cash turnstile this season either, queue up for a ticket first.

Well, Abbey Hilton 5 Sandbach 3, 3 sendings off (0ne for an attempted savage tackle that missed (thankfully), Sandbach Manager sent off for moaning- you’d expect him to know better, second Sandbach player for a wild lunge having already been booked, and then the idiot nephew sin binned for complaining at not being awarded a penalty). Certainly worth the £5 admission!

I used to like watching Dorchester Town when I was stationed at Yeovilton, nice ground, good games, and a bonkers local rivalry with Weymouth. I’d go Newcastle Town a few years back when Stoke were ‘selling’ out regularly. you’d get a few non-league ground hoppers at ‘castle attending because they play inside a velodrome - must be on a bucket list?

Went to watch Mickleover Sport (my non league team) lose 1-0 at Witton Albion last night but more importantly watched Stoke's 17 year old keeper Nathan Broome who is on loan at Mickleover. Didn't let them down, not at fault for the goal, wasn't given a lot of protection by the ref at free kicks and corners when he was taken out by their lump of a centre forward every time but coped admirably in horrendous conditions. Weird loan as I noticed he was on the bench for our u23s last Friday before turning out for Mickleover on Saturday but I heard Mickleover have paid the princely sum of two season tickets for his mum and dad to loan him so I guess if Stoke want him they have first option.

It’s Alsager v Stone Old Alleynians tonight. I’m having a wander up. Went t’other week when they beat Sandbach. Alsager have got a team full of Mancs this season. Only two local lads I think. Wasn't a bad game last night. Stone won 3-2 in the last minute. Probably a draw was the fair result. Conditions weren't helpful with the rain. Alsager remind me of Stoke a bit. When they're on it they look decent, but they have a tendency to switch off for periods during games. Their 'keeper is a good lad. He inna very big, but he's brave and has got a cracking ping on him.

It's amazing how many ground hoppers there out there. I can't think of a non-league game that I've been to (and I go to about a dozen a season) where I haven't met one. They are usually always happy to have a chat to the regulars.

It was the Qualifying preliminary round of the FA Cup today. And it was History in the making for my home town club Whitchurch Alport. They have never been past this point in over 70 yrs as a club. It was a 3-0 away win against a team one step higher in the pyramid. Other locals Kidsgorve v Newcastle was a draw and Market Drayton got rinsed 6-0. I await the next round draw with interest
