Can’t wait for the ‘he was always our number 1 target, we really weren’t after anyone else’ line that the club will trott out.
Truly uninspiring signing if it happens.
From Gayle to Hogan 🙄

Hogan will at least work and offer some much needed mobility up front. Not the player he was after injury but an improvement on the offering on Saturday.

We may as well dig up Ben Hogan.
The very bottom of the barrel is now being scraped.
Ambition!

If Afobe is on the way out before Thursday I can live with it, if not it just seems bizarre.....

Villa fans think this guy is on a par with Percy. Recently moved to the Athletic from the Brum Mail. It's definitely happening! Bugger. I’d rather have Hulk sodding Hogan. Let me tell ya something brother! You wait till im on the pitch, with my 28000 screaming hulkamaniacs Jack, when I'm scoring goals and dropping keepers like Andre the giant. When I unleash my 24 inch pythons brother at the Bet365 stadium, whatcha gonna do, when Hulk Hogan runs wild on you!

Hogan and Gregory played together at Halifax 2010/11 season, it seems. Both hung around the lower leagues, and broke through to the Championship at a later age than most after doing the hard grind. He is certainly no Premier League prima donna and, if they are paired again, they are guaranteed to work 'aaaaard.
So, who goes to make way? Please not Campbell!! But who would take either of Vokes or Afobe on their last "performances"? I really hope it is Afobe for whom we have found a new club.

Be interesting how many “Jones-isms” we get.
“We’ve known about him for a while” - He was literally the last fucking option on our list
“He has a great pedigree” - He had one good season, once
“He’ll be the difference” - He’ll make absolutely no difference
“We’ve been after his services the moment we were made aware of his availability” - We’ve known he’s been available for 4000 light years however no-one else would touch us with a barge pole.
“He’ll buy into what we’re trying to do here” - I’m going to play the twat out of position
“He’ll get us the goals we need” - Alongside those apex goalmouth predators Afobe & Vokes, fuck me i’ll be staggered if they don’t get 225 goals each this season.
“We’ll integrate him gradually” - He’s playing next game, and the next, and the one after that, you fuckers though Allen couldn’t be dropped haha have I got a surprise for you, god willing.

I am not too disheartened by this one, risk free being a loan, and if Jones gets the best out of him he will bag 15 goals easy.

If it means Campbell going out on loan then it's another nail in coffin for Jones as far as I'm concerned, I'm disliking him more by the week.

If we’re not going all out for a ‘marquee signing’ that we know will score goals given the chances, then what’s the point in getting in yet another bang average striker. Just use Gregory and Campbell instead ffs.
Where is the ambition?

If Afobe is on the way out before Thursday I can live with it, if not it just seems bizarre..... No-Afobe is guaranteed goals;it’s the service to him that is rubbish........or so we are meant to believe. It’s actually a combination of both- poor service and just a poor forward. I’ve no idea why we don’t give Campbell 36 games - he will match Afobe’s total of last year.

I’m rapidly losing patience with him, as are many others it seems. They're gonna have to find patience as he isn't going anywhere. Not only is it a project so he will be given time, (as he should be), if we were to sack him, we become almost Sunderlandesque and no manager with any hope of a career will touch us with a barge pole. Give it time, he will work wonders for us.

The No.1 Villa reporter says it's happening. Blimey. Well that escalated quickly I can't say I've seen a great deal of him. What type of striker is he? Don't say a shit one 😂 My bro (villa ST holder) says he's decent, just hasnt worked out for him at Villa. It happens, I've said it many times before we signed Stein & Sheron when they were out of sorts at their previous clubs. I'd prefer Gayle and have always said so but the gospel on here constantly bang on saying he'd cost us too much with FFP & wouldnt score in our system! So if it ends up being Hogan I'm going to be optimistically hopeful he could be a hidden gem. Would much prefer Hogan to Wickham.

Campbell must have done something seriously wrong to not be in favour.
