This massive overreaction was predictable. It all comes down to the reason you watch football I suppose. I started watching stoke in the late 70’s as a kid, and for 30 years we were by and large wank, signing journeymen with a few notable exceptions. Then suddenly we stopped being wank and started signing genuine footballers - Bojan is the best player I’ve ever seen at Stoke - and he represented a bit of hope and a bright future for the club. I can’t be arsed to go through the well-worn arguments yet again, but I’m struggling to name anyone from our extensive list of dreary also-rans who gives me any hope for a bright stoke city future, not a one. Just my opinion, feel free to let it drift on the wind.

Goodbye to the most talented player I’ve ever seen in a Stoke shirt.
The fact we’re not giving players of his class a chance but persist with the likes of James McClean and Joe Allen every week regardless of how poor they are is a sad indictment of what this club has become.
Forget any of his golden performances for us pre-Rochdale, based purely on what he produced in the limited cameos last season, it’s clear as day that he has more to offer than the wasters we continually chuck out on the pitch. In a team that has been screaming out for creativity the decision to get rid of our most creative player and, in a system that only allows for a number 10, have one injury prone creative option available is mind-boggling.

I’ll never forget the excitement of when he signed, taking my 6 year old boy to see, playing for Stoke, someone who broke all the records in Barca youth.
Good luck for the future and for the memories at the Brit. Sure looks like it will be a long long time before anyone anywhere near as exciting graces those stripes.

Thank you Bojan for giving me the chance to arrogantly shout 'ole' in a glasgow bar and take the piss out of a bunch of glory hunters as we absolutely took the piss out of man city.
Thank you for rinsing Arsenal, and that being the game where I brought down a glory hunting arsenal fan to sit with me in the home end.
Bojan gave us all a feel about what it could be like to support stoke.

So... we are sitting on several crocks of shite with terrible attitudes and we let go arguably our best creative player with possibly one of the best attitudes? He loved playing football and he loved the club.
I am utterly at a loss right now. To think we've traded Bojan for Powell/Vokes/Woods makes me sick.

I watched those journeymen we have signed lumping the ball about and displaying a level of skill you could see on any Sunday morning in the park, and I thought of Bojan, Arnie and Shaqiri. What have we done to ourselves? I know Bojan hadn’t set the world on fire recently, but there was always that chance of a moment of sublime skill. I don’t think the club really gave him a fair crack of the whip but the policy seems to militate against skilful players. There was nobody on the pitch on Saturday who looked as if he could take two or three men on and go past them, until Ince came on for the last ten minutes.

From Arnoutevic, Nzonzi, Shaqiri and Bojan to Afobe, Vokes, Gregory and Cousins in 3-4 years or so ..... I don't need to say anything else

So Stoke-alona is finally over. I doubt that I will see anyone as talented in a Stoke shirt again. When I think of Arnie, Shak, N’Zonzi and Bojan, and then what we have now, I could cry. What a waste of a golden opportunity for the club. But I do feel privileged to have seen it and to have been part of that all too short era in our history. Thanks Bojan, and good luck with whatever you go on to.

I just sat there with the cheesiest smile on my face and laughed like a nutter. Arsenal who had girned about us being hammer throwers were getting a footballing lesson of epic proportion. Most gifted player I have ever seen by a mile.

And now we need a creative midfielder, don't we? I hear that guy bojan could do a job.... Ffs.
All our signings are dreary, plodders, lacking pace and creativity, and here we are without so much of a chance, letting Bojan go. I said it before about Jones and I'll say it again, he failed to sign his mates from Luton who have gone on to admittedly better things (than ourselves), he's failed to input any change in the squad with 8 new signings, and yet here he is not giving a large number of the clubs most creative posters a chance after promises. If the defence is crap, fix it, don't scapegoat the creative players due to the defence being crap. How is our attacking play looking??? Exactly. I understand there's a time to move on but we have been free falling and are continuing to do so. Sad times ahead.
Hope the health and safety officers come down on our chairman's disgraceful mismanagement hard- and it will be completely warranted.

Leaving his football ability aside for one moment, I am just sad that we have lost such a nice guy, particularly when the stench of others is still rife around the place.

I hope he goes there, rips the Championship up, and I wouldn't even care if he raped us in the double fixtures as well. It'd certainly show this clown of a manager up in front of the whole division.

I’m expecting the atmosphere at the next home game to be interesting to say the least. Especially if it’s as shit as QPR.

as are your posts on the subject. I just find it all a bit strange, he didn’t do it anywhere near long enough to be considered a club legend. They say there’s none so blind as those who will not see, You think Bojan is Joe average or worse. Sergei Shtanyuk, a real pro defender for Stoke, who many stoke fans have massive respect for, thinks Bojan “is the most technically gifted player he has ever seen at Stoke”. (See his tweet an hour or so ago) Opinions eh? Legend is a loosely used term but it can be earned over ten years, or it can be earned in a few moments of magic of which other players are incapable, and which produce lifelong memories. I don’t think any player without something special provokes this type of reaction when he leaves a club. Will many fans be talking about McLean Clucas and Afobe in twenty years time? Personally I doubt it.
