I honestly don't know how anyone can possibly still think Lawrence isn't worth the £500k we paid for him after the first half of the season.
I genuinely can't rememeber a Stoke player to get so many assists in a season, he must have more than any player in the league.
I haven't seen him have a poor game for months and I think he's leading the way as the Player of the Season so far. Surely his doubters have come round to him now?

LS,
I have never understood the venom launched at LL either. OUt of our midfielders he consistently performs to a decent standard and considering who he has alongside him, we are lucky for the form he has shown.
Tony, if you buy two really decent midfielders, i promise i will not say another bad word this season.

Allways rated him as a player even when he was a mansfield and was gutted when we dident sign him then, Also he was the stand out player of sunderland when they were in the prem..
Great player and great signing...

Is that right Dave? Fair achievement that! I reckon LL is close to that already though, he got three last night for starters!
I'm struggling to think of a winger we've had with a more consistent delivery.

I said it on the old board the other day how outstanding his contribution has been lately, his attitude, crossing of the ball and work rate is nothing short of fantastic, leading by example indeed.
He is at the heart of everything stoke do well.
Player of the season so far by a mile, keep it up liam lad.

Yes always admired him at Mansfield
Seem to remember Stan Staunton picked him in his first Irish squad but was pretty much ignored after that- certainly done enough for another call up I think-

He's got 8 assists, I think, Blake and Elliot at Burnley are doing pretty well in the assists department too.

That's a joke if he's only been credited with 8 assists because it must be double that! He's scored one and set up five in the last three games alone!

Would Delap's throw-ins count as assists?
Because i'd drop him/Matteo/Eustace like a shot, irrespective.
We are a Central Midfield partnership & a loan re-signing (Shawcross) away from the Premiership. I don't care if you fucking hate Pulis or not. That's outstanding.

I don't think scoring technically counts as an assist though. I don't know really. I can't find a table of assists.

I don't think there was any tongue in cheek about it Paul.
Lawrence has shown vastly improved form in the last three games. Prior to that his distribution has often been awful, particularly in away games and his inability to go past a player has been obvious.
He has been far too inconsistent prior to very recent times for anyone to suddenly chirp up on the back of this vast improvement that it was incorrect to question his fee. It was completely justified. He has been pretty frustrating for long periods of time.
If he keeps up present form, however no one will complain.

I might have known you wouldn't agree Wooly!
He hasn't just been good these last three games at all, he's been our most consistent performer over the season.
Even when he has a bad game he's our only player other than Fuller who can win us a game and he's done it many times this season.
We look so dangerous from corners for a reason - the delivery has been superb all year.

LS1 - it isn't quite correct to say his crosses have been good all year. Last season he put some awful crosses and corners in (often didn't beat the first man) although his work rate and scoring rate was fine. This season he has added consistent crossing and corners to his armoury and is a much more complete player.
He HAS raised his game even more in the last week or so but I reckon he has been our most consistent player of the season so far. So much so that we look lost without him (eg Burnley game)

Yeah sorry Forny, I meant all season and not all year. Although I thought he finished last season well to be honest.
He's definitely improved this term though because I agree his crossing was a bit hit and miss before.

Liverpool,
I refer you to the manager you wish to bestow a Knighthood on as my point of reference and confirmation that he is "currently" playing well.

Well done MarkW
I didn't expect anything else but for you to try and cover up your own lame, past opinions.
He scored goals last season and he has scored goals this season.
He set up goals last years and he set up plenty this year.
Stop this 3 game garbage - his performances and value have always been there for anybody that wanted to see it.
Just admit you were wrong you ****. ;D
