Not bothered that they're promoting the story too? I don't read the Mail on Sunday or any other day so I didn't know about that. Obviously you do, so I'm sorry for missing that but it did at least give you the opportunity to leap to a keyboard with a totally wrong conclusion in mind and miss your target by miles. And, since you mention it, if the Mail of which ever day had the word British in its title, was financially supported and funded by the British Tax Payer, and was recognised as 'the voice of Britain' throughout the world then yes, I would be bothered about it. But they are not, as far as I'm aware. You probably know more about the Mail than I do though.

Why wouldn't the BBC report it? Every other news channel is covering it including Sky News, etc, etc. Are you suggesting the BBC cover this story in the same China covers the Hong Kong protests? Interesting that it is one of Farage's best mates who is behind the leak.

Isabel Oakeshott is the Daily Mail journalist, author of David Cameron's biography, political ally of Farage who has made it no secret that he wants the job of the UK ambassador who wrote the emails. It’s a set up that could gloriously backfire. So much for working in the public interest!

Right Not if it has the potential to harm the national interest, no. Particularly when, as we all know, there are motives that are not entirely altruistic in play here.

I find a senior diplomat's impression of the administration we have to be more closely aligned with after Brexit very much in the National Interest tbh. It all depends on who leaked it, once one media outlet gets the story the rest have to run with it. If the BBC are behind the leak then you may have a point. But the impression seems to indicate they're not.

So if the BBC feels that Brexit has the potential to harm the national interest, it's correct for it to tailor coverage accordingly? And what about all the other news outlets reporting it?!

This episode shows to what extent we are in the grip of the US.
Pulling all the strings.
This ambassador should have been supported. He wrote as he saw it, what we all know really in a private correspondence as per his job description. The leaker has commited a criminal act here. But the ambassador is now being made out to be the criminal for doing his job.
You can imagine the US Ambassador says far more derogatory comments about the UK administration in their private emails. But would they get hounded out of office for it?... would they hell! They’d be celebrated.
The fact that it is a very close ally of Farage who has leaked this tells all you need to know. Complete stitch up.
