Understand what Cranson knees is saying , and indeed Werrington , but the hoolie book has been done .. and in general those type of books have largely had their day..
Writing about others , rather than yourself , is a minefield of legality , permissions etc and risks severe family upset and displeasure
Theres been a few books by ‘normals’ re their match-day experiences .. at ours and other clubs , though the market for those seems even more limited , perhaps because they lack the voyeuristic one upmanship of the former..or perhaps because those that have done serious miles following a club any club , don’t see or want to be thought of as putting themselves above anyone else , and in our case given our lack of European adventures most have only trodden the same path as countless others
The lack of interesting or unique trips , adventures means things get very similar , very quickly , with for most just domestic games / trips to write about
Like many I’ve had more than the odd adventure , but peoples adventures are their own , interesting to them ( or not) but of little interest to others, especially if they’re not written by somebody with exceptional talent with a touch of humour

Pub on Liverpool Road, Stoke. Not the Prince of Wales where I saw Stoke’s 2nd top punk band (after Discharge) The Verdict do a gig about 1978/79, there was another pub across road but further towards Shelton, can’t remember the name. Open mic one night: Finn did Petula Clark’s Down Town in Shane magowan style (p*****) but in Stoke dialect so it became DINE TINE .... classic. At St Joseph’s Trent Vale he was a BIG character, daft as a brush but VERY popular and likeable!

Think the one on the other side further towards Shelton was The Star, not 100% on that tho.

Yes, The Star. Remember they had a little project where they tried topless barmaids for a few nights - maybe Vegas it would work, not really Stoke though .... duck!

I knew the landlord in the late 70s and used to pop in now and then for a pint, joined up in 1980 so didn't frequent the place so much, don't remember any topless barmaids sadly

If you ever in the company of the Mighty Finn, trust me it was eventful. The race days we go on from the Staff in Stoke were great days. So many happy and funny memories RIP big lad never backed down from anyone....never bought a round either
