We have already signed our new number 1. When was this announced? We've signed no-one as far as I can see John Percy, very very reliable, admitted him, Powell and Gregory done.

Joe Hart is absolutely dreadful. Bob on, should be nowhere near our football club. This type of signing is exactly why we are in the shit we're in.

You'd think he'd rather retire than sit on a Championship bench and be wheeled out for the odd League Cup game. He must have millions in the bank - and the ego the size of a house. I wasn't being serious!!!!

We've signed no-one as far as I can see For fear of sounding like a stuck record it would be nice if you could find somewhere on here a record of who we have actually bought or sold this window I think the answer is no one but who knows?

Apparently we have signed three players all on frees, strange thing is no one want's to admit this at the club, they must be waiting until all the hard nailed on claims from the media have died down then announce it when some bad news is grabbing the headlines to avoid embarrassment

Whatever is announced and when, it is likely going to be a huge anticlimax.

That would certainly provide some insurance for the future , don’t think you’ll see other central figures cross crossing the globe for signing photos with Davis , Gregory and Powell but I might be mistaken

Hart is now a lump. Remember that a well organised Burnley side were struggling in the relegation zone until he was replaced. If we do sign him we are fucked and it will be yet another betrayal of the type of signings we were promised.

From what I remember Hart was in quite decent form, the pick up in burnley's form was coincidental to him being dropped. If Pep hadnt bombed him out its likely he would still be england no 1, never came across as arrogant when he came to stoke with citeh, personally I would be delighted if he was the replacement for Butland.

Why would Davies leave 1 Championship club where he is #1 to join another Championship club to be #2? about 15k a week maybe I suspect if Barnsley wanted to keep him, they could more than match us with wages. Check out championship owners

One thing having owners-another paying wages. Do you really think Barnsley would match us?

Interesting. The $9.1bn wealth of the Barnsley owners dwarfs everyone in the Championship and all but Man City Chelsea and Villa (about the same) in the Prem. They could kick some arse if they wanted to.

I don't think Hart is terrible but don't think we need him. As discussing with Milan and Sorensen on another thread, are we going to have 2 keepers battling for number one, ie bring in another quality keeper or go for the Carlo Nash/Federici type again? Personally think the former. I really liked that Blackburn keeper

Really, really nice bloke. As for the rest, he needs to prove himself again -- somewhere -- maybe Stoke ? why not ??
( If I were the club I would be asking SJW maybe Crouchie too, if Joe's still got it )

How the fuck does that warrant the response 'clown' 'pondlife' ? He's a really nice bloke. The fucks that got do with anything ? We have or will be signing a first choice keeper. He's past it. Even if we were to consider signing him im pretty sure the manager wouldnt need a character reference off former players about Joe Hart who been around 20 years.

Well he was terrible at Torino to the point that the president openly criticised him, terrible at WHU to the point that Moyes dropped him and when he was dropped at Burnley they went on a run that dragged them out of trouble. Not impossible that he can recover but he’s been in decline for some time.

They could kick some arse if they wanted to. People throw those figures around but it’s about actual equity the ownership of Barnsley is an equity group who also own Nice in France and some American franchises. The £9 billion is all invested they won’t have that in cash reserves, same with us however our owners have less overheads in their business potentially, but with a multi billion gambling empire they have got to keep a fair bit under the mattress to cover all bets placed. That’s my opinion anyway
