Do we know the score with this? Has his contract been terminated and taken over by the new club? Loan until the end of the season with an option of another 12 months.

It seems it's a deal till the end of the season with the option of another 12 months, they are currently bottom of the league and if they should go down unless he has a blinding 6 months reckon he'll be back in spirit if not person!

To be honest I may be in the minority and I've only really been on a whistle stop tour of the place but I couldn't personally think of anywhere worse to live than Abu Dhabi or Dubai either. He'll be sat in his 50th floor penthouse overlooking the Persian Gulf looking at all the zeros at the end of his bank account trying to justify his and his agents actions, but in the cold light of day he'll be thinking "What the fuck I've I done with my career", you can't lie to yourself as they say..... He may think that, once my career is over, I won't have to sell insurance, become a taxi driver or, heavens above, get a job. Neither will he have worries about such mundane things as a pension or the cost of living. Having a wonderful career gives you memories but it doesn't pay the bills. How many retired players have had to sell medals, caps, trophies to say nothing of the physical damage/suffering with which they may have to live the rest of their lives? The public rarely gives a toss about the post-playing life of players so maybe players are well advised to take care of themselves and make hay while the sun shines. Just a thought? Yes, I'm sure his contract at Stoke would really have put him on the breadline come the end of his career.

Excellent. (Sarcasm) Frustrating as I don’t really class him and Etebo as bomb squad, all they wanted to do was leave a struggling team. Shame a they didn’t want to knuckle down under MON as both are infinitely better then Allen.

Coming soon to a league near you.... Maybe he should give the US a chance, or India even

He's just scored a cracker.
Still losing though and his team still getting relegated.
Dunno whether hat impacts on them taking him on loan again. If his club are a plaything of a Sheikh or something, it may not matter

The one thing I don’t understand here is, hes bouncing round shit leagues but doesn’t want to play here?
I think his career is on the verge of collapse, whereas if he didn’t request to leave when MON came in he could be attracting better offers as we was in decent form.

It’s incredible to think he’d rather be playing in the Saudi Pro League (and maybe even their second division) rather than play here. It can only be money driven whereby him and his agent are likely getting signing fees / agent fees for each of these moves, and mugging us in the process.

Didn't he sign an 18 month contract this January which takes him up to the end of his contracted time with us? I.e. we're not paying for him any more.

But announced as just for this season, with the dreaded option of next season. Don't know if a relegation to Saudi league 2 would change anything. If he's happy playing in front of a few hundred people, fair enough!

We will see how good the clubs negotiating skills are this close season as with virtually all having one year left surely there is some room for manoeuvre! Holds breath!

If he's happy playing in front of a few hundred people, fair enough! That’s what I don’t get! I understood going to Turkey. You could play in a top flight division and there were some big games each season. He won a cup last year as well, right? But Saudi? Why? Definitely feels like he is just happy to take the money and go. There should be clauses in FFP, where subject to investigation, you can completely write off a loss when a player has failed to meet the agreements set in their contract. These players shouldn’t be paid out of their contracts, they should be terminated for gross negligence and the FFP restriction should be negated.

For as long as I have a hole in my arse, I'll never understand why certain footballers put their complete trust in an agent to sort out their lives.
Money is one thing but christ, the regrets will last you a lifetime.

interesting that it says he’s no longer on our wage bill. Not sure how that works. We don't pay him? This is one of the annoying things about the Sentinel. They will throw in a comment like "he is no longer on Stoke's wage bill" but also state that he is still "under contract" - but can't be bothered to explain how those two, apparently conflicting, statements come about! Is it so complicated that the reporter doesn't understand it, or has the reporter been sworn to silence when it comes to explaining the full situation?

Sounds like the Saudi club are paying his wages until the summer of 2022 on a long-term loan that is effectively a transfer, but we've retained his registration, so have agreed a deal where we would get at least a percentage of any fee should he leave the Saudi club, which he is presumably angling for due to the prospect of playing in front of 50 people and 3 camels in the Saudi second division?
But as a minimum we don't have to worry about paying his wages ever again, and any additional fee would be a bonus.

My favourite memory of this waster was the cutting edge journalism of our Nige after the Everton defeat in the blizzard .
So what was it like for you to play in snow Badou !!!
