Surely if he was that good Galatasaray, Fenerbache etc would have gone for him
Personally I’ve no idea what the hell hes thinking, he must be desperate to leave to join a second rate Turkish club

Fair enough, but Bauer was lined up when Huges was here. We signed a player who was lined up by a manager we have just sacked for incompetency that is just sheer stupidity. Yep, they panicked due to time constraits with the transfer window or they stood by their word, who knows, as we know it turned out to be shit in the end whatever the reason.

Appears like this 'professional' has no ambition, by signing for a no-mark "Turkey" of a club. Instead, happy to move from watering hole to watering hole and, effectively, destroying his potential and reputation (long-term loan player). What some so-called "professional" footballers will do, just to cling on to a dream [for him] contract, and continue getting grubby hands on filthy lucre. One benefit: we have one less r-sole to talk about for 12 months. Absolutely love the Club's expansive and glowing tribute to this latest foreign import. To be fair to him when he was played he put his all in and looked one of our better players its not like he refused to play.

The more this goes on the more Hughes grabs my ire. He did more wrong than right at our club. We can't blame fans, I've never spoke or even wrote to Hughes, I certainly wouldn't have said to him go and sign any overseas wanker for any price. I would also easily forgo the 3x 9 place finishes so long as our club had never heard of him. He came in to an excellent Pulis side that found new freedom under his different tactics. However as a good team took a good few years to build, it also takes a few years to disassemble. Eventually his useless transfer market nous caught up with him and we're still taking about his terrible signings nearly 2 years after he left the club. I worry about some of the rewriting of history going on The squad was in a real mess when Hughes arrived at the club. There was a lot of players at the club who clearly weren't good enough at that stage that needed sorting with little budget to replace them. Palacios, Shea, Edu, Ness, Whitehead, Delap, Upson, Tonge, Shotton, Arismendi, Jerome etc etc I'm not pro-Hughes or anti-Hughes but the fact is for a club like Stoke to achieve 3 x 9 finishes is a remarkable achievement that will never be repeated imho. and Yes he then lost the plot. We experienced a Very Good Hughes and Very Bad Hughes but I don't think there is any need to paint it all with the same brush. The players you mention are a little selective. I could do the same... Bego, Shawcross, Huth, Zonz and Walters a massive backbone in any side and hence my term "excellent". Who wouldn't give their right Stoke arm right now to have those at their prime (and they were then) in the side? Most of the players you select are bit-part players or players that were soon out of door, contract over. Pulis did finish his last season in 13th place, so not a disaster, but hardly anything to shout about. My point being is that all that was required was a few additions and a fresh look at the tactics. You are right TP had run his course and correctly left. However the easy part of assembling the basics of a good team was already in place for Hughes. I just don't think he's some tactical magician that suddenly drummed up a super-squad off his own thinking. It's a shame that you think we can't do the same again. With the funding we have, we should be able to challenge like Wolves or SheffU of last year. We just need to get there with the right manager.

Didn't expect any more than that though? They're a tiny club, he's persona non grata with an agent mysteriously fixated on Turkey - and we had a week to get any kind of deal sorted, didn't we? Wait 'til we see the figures involved in any last-minute Wimmer and Bauer deals!

I do have some sympathy - not with the previous mistakes, but the way we move forward with these leeches. We've waited til nearly October - and for whatever reason there is absolutely no queue, whether that's because there's zero market for him or whther he's only considering Turkish destinations for...whatever reason. If we don't agree by 5th October, we're stuck paying 100% of his wages, aren't we? And he, his agent and loaning club know that. Same with the Austrian Chuckle brothers. No doubt we'll be offered some wiener schnitzel and a couple of bottles of schnapps by a Slovenian fourth division side - and we'll probably have to take it or be lumbered with them

A third of his wages is us being done and shafted. Allied with that interview of his, he's totally out of his depth.

I'm not minimising his previous mistakes - but if they're the only possible loan club, we either accept 700k from a tiny club or we use him as a training cone at Clayton Wood for the rest of the season while paying him £2m

I have strong suspicions that nobody will come in for either and we are lumbered with both for the entire season or January at the earliest.

B) Winter is much milder and sunnier than in friggin Stoke and a much nicer place to live. C) There's better Kebab shops literally on every street corner that cost fuck all. I know where I'd rather be.

They’re absolute parasites the both of them......
