The sooner this guy is our Prime Minister and this dire Labour Party that are about to plunge the nation into economic and social turmoil are ousted, the better. The man is a machine, there must be two of him. You can’t barrage Farage

What’s your local mp up to? As if I would post about my MP on the Farage thread. Nothing wrong with your memory mate but I bet you can’t answer the question without googling it and even then I doubt it’s anything worthy of mention😉

The sooner this guy is our Prime Minister and this dire Labour Party that are about to plunge the nation into economic and social turmoil are ousted, the better. Plunge the nation into economic turmoil? Where have you been for 14 years? Where have you been? The UK was plunged into economic turmoil in 2008, over 16 years ago, due to excessive bank lending and personal debt to over £1 trillion. Manufacturing was sold off and reduced from 21% of our economy in 1997 to less than 14% by 2007. In 1997 the UK had a positive trade balance, with a slight negative trade balance in goods. By 2008 the goods trade deficit had increased to circa £100 billion deficit, offset partly by a positive trade balance in services. These performances lead to a false increased rate of growth in GDP from 2001 to 2007 fueled by personal borrowing, much of which people could not pay back when the banking crisis struck. People were borrowing against their houses to pay for consumption. After 2009 growth of GDP returned to the same rate it had historically had been before 2000, but the damage was done and national debt rocketed, impairing government spending. www.theguardian.com/business/2004/jul/30/7www.macrotrends.net/global-metrics/countries/GBR/united-kingdom/gdp-gross-domestic-productwww.macrotrends.net/global-metrics/countries/GBR/united-kingdom/trade-balance-deficitThe Labour government were warned in 2007 about impending financial trouble but ignored it (egged on by the Tories) and with eyes only on winning the next general election in 2010. www.theguardian.com/politics/2012/jul/22/tony-blair-labour-financial-crisis?CMP=twt_guwww.leading.uk.com/what-caused-the-2008-financial-crisis-in-the-united-kingdom/#:~:text=Excessive%20risk%2Dtaking%20by%20financial,financial%20products%20without%20much%20caution. Another root cause of the UK's financial mess was the Maastricht Treaty agreed by Major, which created the single market and the decline in investment in the UK, the loss of manufacturing, and Blair allowing the flood of cheap labour from eastern Europe from 2004.

As they continue their project to put a man on Mars with the ultimate aim of setting up a permanent home on the red planet, they are keen to hear from you to take advice from someone who is already successfully living on a different planet.

Happy to discuss all of that, but as it's got nothing to do with Nigel Farage you may want to set up a separate thread so we can go through the root causes and ramifications of the global financial crisis. There's an awful lot of conspiracy about it, either way. That said, I'm quietly confident we've been through all of it before but it would nonetheless need a separate thread 😉

One of the worst comebacks since Franz Ferdinand decided to return to Sarajevo in 1914 to jolly along the natives

He certainly knows how to find an empty building. It comes to something when you have to be shamed into spending time in your own constituency
