Can't speak for the Sugarmill but I go to quite a few gigs and I'm often one of the youngest there (at 42), even for really young, new bands. You need to go to age appropriate gigs mate last time I went to see The Who it was a sea of bald headed 60 somethings in leather jackets . 👴

Last time I went to the Sugarmill was to see Symposium 20+ years ago, now there was a band but something went wrong with the promotion and there was probably 50 people there tops and they had sold out keele a couple of months before.

Similar thing at the Viccy Hall when I went to see Steve Harley when he grumbled that they'd ballsed up on promotion/date etc. He said to the audience of about a hundred that it wouldn't stop the band putting a 100% into the gig and the good news was that he'd be on first name terms with everyone in the audience by the end of the night
Cracking gig.

I forget why but I missed a gig of his in Southsea at the Wedgwood Rooms that my mates all went to, think I was on holiday, they reckoned he was absolutely brilliant, lovely little venue too, we saw loads of good artists there.
