The elephant and castle was much nicer I worked behind the bar at the Elephant and Castle, just around the corner from me. Very first pint I pulled as an 18 year old,as soon as I turned my back, the punter drank it down in one , his mates must have hidden the glass and he said I hadn't served him.

It’s not dogcroft i live by that, it’s Johnson place by the looks which is on the border of chell, fegg Hayes and chell heath Is that near those new builds that look out of place in The Big Fegg? I used to live on Wedgwood Farm (an independent republic from Fegg Hayes) I used to take some charity/ pool coupons around there just after the estate was built. I must have been about 13.

One great memory for me living in the Chell,/ Fegg Hayes area was the " excursions" of groups of 12 or 15 of us to either Knypersley or Mow Cop....age range was perhaps 8 to 16, out till dark , no phones, no one knew where we were how we got fed....child abuse 🤔. In the Chell, Chell Heath area there were very localised ' gangs'..... for a good month leading up to bonfire night wood would be collected from anywhere ( including nicking it from other collections) and the bonfire had to be guarded , night and day, to ensure it wasn't nicked That's two memories not one.

That makes no sense. Of course it's worse than some parts of Stoke. Some parts of Stoke are actually nice? Meir Heath for example. Some parts of Trentham, Barlaston, many parts of Smallthorne etc. Chell on the other hand, from what I've experienced just seemed overwhelmingly grim. Poor wording what I’m trying to say is the majority are nice it’s just a few ducks in a few streets which I have experienced all over stoke. Obviously the westlands or other richer areas are nicer but it doesn’t mean that the people who live their aren’t arseholes Absolutely.

Henry, I remember the settee now, we had it for 3 years before we sold it to someone in Chell Heath or the Meir, can't quite remember.

I'm from Chell/ Fegg Hayes... have relations on Chell Heath. When I started drinking I made the mistake of going into the Knave....the locals made it obvious we weren't welcome....is it still there? Top of my street still there. Never been in more than twice it is a bit like the pub in American werewolf in London Remember The Alamo.

Here’s some trivia for you. In Beirut, residents who happen upon a mess or an untidy room have been quoted as saying “Fuck me, it looks like Chell Heath in here”. True story

I used to knock boots with a girl from Chell. Had a right dichotomy going on there, she was rough as fucking houses but had a smokin' body and, to quote WASP, fucked like a beast.

'Another woman, who lives on the street, said “There’s been a police car there all day. We saw it on Facebook at about 9.15 this morning.' Saw it on Facebook Try getting of your arse and looking out the window. I often hear jokes about Chell but no idea where it is to be honest. Will put on my list of places to visit, briefly with doors locked.
