I know I'm in the minority but I like Benni and am glad he's staying.

Bit shocked by this one, I have to say.
I'd accepted the call on Bojan months ago.
But can't say a pool of Vokes, Afobe, Gregory and Campbell immediately strikes me as sufficient.

Campbell will go out on loan again, imo.

It's hardly surprising. No one will want him on the wages he is on here and we won't pay up his contract!

FM why do you think the Sentinel are leaking information by drip feed articles.....do you think they have been told to issue this information like this? Or if they know the whole picture just release it unless the club wants it this way? Just think they are being told what to say by the club?

It strikes me all the ones with one year left have been told to seek new clubs and the rest well.....

All depends IF - between now and August - He loses a stone in weight, learns how to jump and head a ball, learns how to control a ball, find space to receive a pass and runs 20% faster. If he does, he might JUST become a decent player for us.

We’ve just paid £12.5 million for him in January so why would he not stay🤔

Bad news, should be heaved out of the door immediately. More evidence that Jones is not the man we need.

It's no surprise really is it?! we can't get rid of EVERYONE who's shit in one window, football doesn't work like that and Jones will have priorities in terms of players to get rid of now. Firstly, it'll be the players who don't want to be here/display poor attitude and "mentality" that'll go asap. The second string of players up for consideration will be then based on ability. Obviously, he thinks Afobe is someone who displays the correct attitude day to day and can be worked with, whether we agree or not, that's how things have to be until likes of Berahino et al are out of the club.
This shit won't sort itself out entirely for 2/3 years.

I see the irony in your statement and whatever he cost he should have been kicked out as a failure. Not going to happen though is it as well we all know. Well, £7m Woods is a big candidate to go - and he joined at the same time, CP. I think it's pretty defensible for it to be a new manager's prerogative to move on quickly from other manager's mistakes? It would have been a bold move to wash our hands of him in the unlikely event of finding someone who'd take him off our hands (the decision is probably more of a reflection of that being the problem than anything else?)

Shame. Such a lazy, half arsed Shithouse, thought he'd be exactly the sort of player Jones wouldn't want.

46 games x 2 frontment = equivalent of 92 "opportunities" (i.e. full games) up for grabs.... Assuming Vokes as first pick and other opps shared...
Vokes 15 goals in 40 Gregory 12 goals in 27 Afobe 8 goals in 25
1/2 way to the play offs
Now we definitely need a goalscoring midfielder and probably a goal scoring centre half
Nick Powell (free) - 7 in 35 Michael Morrison (free) 5 in 35
= 47
Etebo, Clucas, Edwards, Batth, Shawx, JJ to chip in a total of 15
= 62 goals
With a superior defensive record, we are heading for about 10th-13th.
If on the other hand, we don't have a goal scoring midfielder and CH, its more than 55 goals and 12-15th.

If only it was that easy, but with real shithouses like Wimmer, Imbula, Badou and Berahino persona non grata, we really can't afford to chuck away signings like Woods and Afobe. All one can hope for is that the diamond will enable Afobe to flourish, with either Vokes or Gregory as his partner. It's still a possibility. If Allen departs (along with Adam and Fletcher), then midfield options of Etebo, Clucas, Woods, a new DM and a number 10, may work too. That's the way it looks to me. A new left back, a new centre back if Indi leaves, a new DM and someone who is sadly not Bojan to play behind the front two. The one glaring attribute the team lacks though is pace. We may well have to bludgeon sides into submission. Be ready for loads of 1-0 wins, defeats and more 0-0. The joys of binary.
