Nzonzi is on the list. Both Bould and Dixon were cracking players for us, they both went straight into arsenal's starting eleven and were half of one of Arsenal's best rearguard ever and they only cost them a combined 790k. The wonders of the edit facility.

He's coming. Gouranga. Sauce? Nick himself? I think Albert has said in the past his son is an acquaintance of Powell's. Or something similar.

If he can stay fit and play like he's arsed then we should be ok.
If he can't, then God help the manager and the pizza boys.
It's one hell of a gamble.

Told you they were all completed over the weekend my sauce knows her onions. You can only assume we are going to wait until their contracts expire before announcing them pictured in stoke shirts. Does this mean I'm officially itfk? 😎

And if Powell isn't going to play who is? One of the wingers?

Davies
Edwards Shawcross Batth XXX
XXX
Etebo Allen
Powell
Vokes Gregory
Just the 2 glaring holes now.
You can debate about another starting centre-back coming in Another box-to-box type if either Etebo or Allen do go. Maybe another No.10 (depending on how Jones sees Ince?) And potentially another striker (depending on how he sees Afobe and the realistic chances of moving him on) Maybe some cover at right-back needed if Bauer goes. And would we need someone else who could play in front of the back 4 in addition to the main holding player (Whelan as the back-up?), or would we get through with a mixture of Allen, Etebo and Clucas?

Or Sawyers if we sign him. Ince isn't a number 10. Bojan will be gone and if he's still here should be starting ahead of Powell. Sawyers isn't a number 10 in the slightest imo. Would want him as one of the two in the diamond.

Would want him as one of the two in the diamond. Ince is going to be a real conundrum. It'd clearly be best all round if he went, but you could probably write a list of potential buyers on the back of a very small envelope. For a start, he's not going to want to sit on the bench as back-up No.10 for a position he doesn't really want to play in. There was an interesting line in the Wizards of Drivel podcast after the Sheff U or Norwich game, where they recounted a brief conversation with Paul Ince at the game, along the lines of: "Is Tom staying, Paul? "If he gets rid of this stupid diamond, yeah..."

Assuming Bojan leaves (if he doesn't then there's two out and out number tens) either Ince or Verlinden plays there or we switch systems if/when Powell doesn't play Or we sign another one.

We could do with a chopper update. He seemed to allude Arter was very much on our radar if he was prepared to drop a division. You would think if we really wanted Sawyer's we could offer him substantial money?

NJ having a revelation that tells him the diamond is not the answer is the answer. I was thinking of tweeting him this from Jeremiah 17:1 "The sin of Judah is written down with an iron stylus; With a diamond point it is engraved upon the tablet of their heart And on the horns of their altars."

The wonders of the edit facility. Dixon didn't become a regular until the next season. Played a few games when he joined before May but Kenny Sansom kept his place until the Summer. Not that it matters as was excellent when he played eventually

Yeah offering Sawyers up as a DM is a bit strange imo. He seems better deeper and going forward from there. Which would be great alongside Etebo.

Powell can also play behind a striker, which might enable Ince to contribute too, but not really in a diamond.

Personally would keep Ince. Can change a game at this level and gives us that option to switch systems. Had a bit of a purple patch when was really impressive then he became a bit of a boo boy for some after not fitting into NJ's style at first.

By "purple patch" do you mean scored one cracking goal before doing absolutely naff all for the rest of the season?
