That's a gem of a find Joe. I've always loved Larry Grayson. Strange that they aren't advertising a particular brand or company though. Just cream cakes in general! Isn't that Barbara Windsor's voice at the end?

Interestingly it was dreamed up by none other than.......Salman Rushdie, who was a young copywriter.

Come to think about it I do remember TV adverts in the 70s and 80s encouraging kids to drink milk (presumably a MMB campaign). No endorsement of a particular dairy or supplier, just milk in general.

I can't find the exact date but the MMB also ran an advert "drinka pinta milka day". It was around the same period as Grayson's one.

There was also a slogan which advised us to "go to work on an egg".
This confused the young me, as I tried to imagine my old man mounting an over - sized egg for his trip to the office.

Still, they had ‘The Greatest’ advertising for them so worth a watch just for that!

Les Dawson (with Roy Barraclough), Barbara Windsor, and Kenneth Williams all did the "naughty but nice" adverts as well.

It was a massive publicity campaign at the time, with all sorts of quirky promo items on sale - I know because I used to have a belt with that written on it....... No doubt I've still got it somewhere!

Isn't that Barbara Windsor's voice at the end? Larry Grayson was that thing where you can get a laugh from anything as long as it's said in a camp voice. Stu Francis took advantage of it too with his crush a grape catchphrase

Isn't that Barbara Windsor's voice at the end? There was a special about him last week I caught the last half I was interested to see how dated the humour was but it was still much better than Alan Partridge
Interestingly he never left his home town of Nuneaton and lived in a fairly normal house despite his vast wealth and kept his friends from back on the day. Someone made the point that the scum newspapers were always trying to get a scandalous story on him but he lived a normal life well away from the scene and rent boys.

Theres a great clip of Larry on YouTube being interviewed by Judy Spears on Pebble Mill in the mid 90s I think.... he hadn't been on our screens for a while when she interviewed him but he has her in hysterics
