No match day thread on Friday afternoon? When’s the presser or have I missed it? So, we just have to score don’t we, 1-0 will do as they are going well at the minute.

We’ve got a very good record against Bruce at home, and the absence of Steven Fletcher pushes him into his plan b already. That said, they are in good form, gonna go for a hard fought 2 (two) -1.

He didn't exactly commit himself to selecting TV again and I have a feeling he's not going to. Unlike Hughes, who on those extremely rare occasions he did pick Edwards and Tymon he threw them to the dogs vs Citeh, the Spuds, Manure, and possibly Chelsea although they weren't at the races themselves, Jones seems to be very careful, or conservative if you like, when it comes to introducing young players to the first team. He stated before the Reading game that he had thought for a while about playing TV, but that the game had to be right. By choosing Reading he must have felt that there was little danger, and he was right about that. But he will be well aware that we are still not mathematically certain of avoiding relegation, so he won't want to risk a young player making a dreadful mistake vs a, ahem, top team. But I hope I'm wrong.

Are the club planning any special celebrations to mark the occasion if we actually score tomorrow? Or how about a presentation to anyone in the team who scores a penalty? Mind you another 0-0 draw might be cause to celebrate in itself as we would equal, and be on the way to passing, a 10 year old record, set by Arsenal, for successive goalless draws. Adds a whole new level of excitement and expectation after recent results doesn't it?

Jones has got to stop saying "we were excellent" at these pressers, By all means do it in the dressing room, and at the weekly board meeting, but don't tell the world, including us, that the team is doing fine. We're not, and any fool can see that.

Is this going to be the game everyone expects a 0-0 and we actually don’t draw, but score 3?

not much enthusiasm for this game? no match day thread until friday night? What with the International break, the grinding boredom of Brexit talks, and the prospect of British summertime, I expect the imminent approach of this game has escaped notice, or just slipped peoples memories (intentionally perhaps?)

Now Bannon will run the midfield and make an awful back pass allowing Verlinden to latch onto it and slot the ball in. Wild celebrations follow.

We're not, and any fool can see that. If you're watching teams at the top of the European pyramid its easy to be impressed. Some of the things the star players do can take your breath away. Just think of the performances produced by Man City. If you are used to lower league football, moving up a division requires a little bit of adjustment. After watching the difference in technique and performance levels between League 1 and the Championship, Jones too could easily be impressed, and genuinely feels that the team were indeed excellent. There's not a lot of difference between that and TP saying "the lads were triffic".

It’s difficult to predict our side for tomorrow but I’d go something like the below in a 4-2-3-1
Butland Edwards Ryan Batth Indi
Allen Etebo
McClean Ince Verlinden
Vokes
That said I do think we are better in a 442 so you could see McClean up top and Ince wide right

There's not a lot of difference between that and TP saying "the lads were triffic". I think there is. Pulis didn't speak about their football qualities, because it didn't rank high with him. He cared about effort and loyalty, suffering for the good of the team. Jones says we are playing excellent. That's just setting himself up as a great manipulator, as if he is Mourinho reincarnated. I obviously can't speak for him, but I think he was used to seeing better football than what we are producing, in fact we're producing next to nothing. I know he was expecting more; he just didn't realise how poor we were, before setting up shop here. They're plenty of good teams in League 1 as well as in the Championship, but we're not providing it, and so far, Jones hasn't been able to make us play the way he desires, or even make us play in a way that can have us realistically hoping that we will finish this season with the "momentum" that he is aiming for. It's alright to some degree to have long term targets at the expense of the present, and yes he should be given time, but every week Jones is setting short term targets and the team fails every time, well we did beat Leeds, but that's come to be the exception that confirms the rule. That said, I can see us win tomorra...

We confirm it’s a very ordinary league and a should have made a better fist of it.

Perhaps by next season when we ARE playing well, Nathan will be using terms like "sublime" and "stunning" as well as excellent.

We're clearly lucky to be on the same pitch as them. Hopefully we'll click one day, and we've got to hope today's the day - but we have scored the fewest goals in England since Christmas. Would imagine a Bruce team wouldn't be the easiest to score against (only 11 conceded in the last 16 games which puts them only behind Sheff Utd in the division)
