Few fans should also hang their heads about some of the Jones threads they started. Didn't you get the memo mate? They guy is absolutely wank. Out of his depth. Us being poor is 100% down to him. Luton doing well is nothing to do with Jones. Pure science. You can't argue with the above facts. Come on down Moyes/Allardyce.

Class never fades the blokes a top player he’d walk into most premier league teams and Nathan has realised him and Charlie can be part of next seasons spine Pretty certain unless Charlie gets himself fit enough to play 80-90 minutes every week, Jones will replace him with someone who can. Charlie is here next year make no mistake. he is just getting some guidance on “ Looking after himself “ he’s our best modefieod player at the minute without doubt and the fact Rowett couldn’t see it was his biggest of many howlers

Really pleased to see Ryan put 2 back to back performances like that together and if I'm being honest didn't think he could anymore. However, like the transformation in BMI since he played alongside him, we shouldn't underestimate the impact Batth is having nor the work the manager is doing on the training ground. I guess I was almost as much of a wanker for writing off Ryan as some people are for constantly bitching about the new manager like hysterical tarts........

I Think He will play at the base to use his range of passing , but he could be one of the two ahead f that if he gets a proper number 10 with legs and either retains Allen or replacement with a similar engine but more presence . ( I’d love to keep Allen but I just can’t see it with Leicester and Bournemouth sniffing Leicester I Think is very tempting )

Ryan has improved definitely but I still think Jones will sign another CB to go alongside Batth.
Yesterday their two best attacks second half came when Ryan missed a header off their goal kick, and let the ball bounce another time down at the bye line, letting their player take possession and start an attack.
I always loved Shawcross, a stoke legend, but going forward he is great cover, but probably not first choice material.
That said, I can see him going to burnley in the premier league, playing less games but doing really well when he does play. So I wouldn't be surprised if he moved on for a small fee to a prem club

Ryan has worked hard, and deserves his praise. However, to suggest he is Premier League class, is just wrong. He is nowhere near good enough for the Premier League, just a damned good Centre half, on the top of his game, at the moment.

Not a chance Shawcross will get a move to a PL team, but if he did it would be in everyone’s interest for him to take it. For the wages he will be on we can find better. Whilst he has been much improved for the last few games I’m under no illusions that he is back to his best, do it consistently for 6 months then maybe I’ll start believeing it.

Proper man management of him. Dropping him when it was needed, took him out of the limelight, praised him for his attitude whilst out of the side and brought him back when needed. 1000% He'd already been dropped and brought back in and he came back the same. Not sure what your point is

Spot on and Arnie and Nzonzi and Shaq were lazy , Walters hadn’t a clue etc etc , the problems with our club aren’t shawcross or Pieters or Allen who are exemplary professionals and top players but some won’t see it until they are somebody else’s better players

There were one or two posts that were very disrespectful about Shawcross early season when he was playing crap but the majority of posts wanting him dropped recognised what a great servant he had been for the club. I'm glad Shawcross has found some form and at the moment is deserving of a place in the first team - it doesn't change the fact that he was woeful and deserved to be dropped when he was.
In order to extend his career he has to change his game to deal with a body that can't do what he used to be able to do. Plenty of central defenders have had an Indian summer to their career by relying on their reading of the game and having someone else do the donkey work. Maybe he can form that sort of partnership with Batth - who deserves massive credit for turning a dodgy defence into one that now looks half decent.
I hope Shawcross continues to show form deserving of a first team place - but I still think we need another first team ready central defender in the summer to keep things fresh. And at the moment it's Batth who should be first on the teamsheet - and looking to the future I'd make him on pitch captain.

Shawcross having a couple of good games and he’s back to his best? I think some on here need a reality check. And that’s not me being a “miserable bastard” who “needs to fuck off”, but a supporter who has seen Shawcross at his best and sadly his abject worst. I really hope for his and Stoke’s sakes he carries it on but I’m going to reserve judgement for more than 2-3 games.
