I think it'll be more up to Butland if he leaves than Stoke.
He's a good keeper and unfortunately our other keepers just aren't. That means that, unless Burnley pay over the odds to add to their ex-England Goalies collection, we'd have to spend most of what we got on a replacement.

Wages will be a big factor too, we'll have to start letting the big earners go whether we want to or not, we need to plan our future as a Championship club doing anything else could lead us into more trouble down the line.

Wonder if we are thinking about Hart Would he drop a division? Begovic more likely but still a question mark.

we should not be stupid if we do sell jack. on todays stupid market it as to be no less than 30 million with a sell on clause. a begovic return would soften the blow.

I rate Butland highly - but really doubt there's the market to get more than £20m, and it may end up lower
Only teams like Palace and Bournemouth will be in the hunt (and there's no guarantee they will single him out as the man they want), and they won't go that high.

I'm sure that he will be off this summer. P/X for Hart or Begovic or similar would be the ideal. We need a decent goalie given that the defence is still a bit fragile

I'd say 15 million and he will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. League 1 players are valued at that amount mate not 25 year old England internationals with 3 years on a contract and around 100 premiership games What is it with Stoke fans constantly under valuing our players?, we had one fool on here a few months ago valuing Joe Allen at £8m!!!

Good luck to him. if he wants to be a serious England selection he has to leave no doubt about it. Has a few flaws in his game but not going to improve as a stoke player playing in the championship. Will be a shame as is the only stoke player who appears in the England programme gives you a sense of pride. Maybe a long time till i see another England game with a stoke player involved. Good luck Jack

I think that a goalkeeper is one of the positions where it matters less technically around the level you are playing at. It’s all relative around whether you have a crap defence in front of you that increases the amount of work you do. The difference I suppose is the increased likelihood of the quality of striker testing you. You only have to look at FA cup or World Cups where an underdog team and it’s goalkeepers step up several levels against far superior opposition.
I know that he needs to be in the Premier League to get into the England team and in my opinion this is purely for FA and media snobbery around representing your country...that’s the reality of the position and I’m realistic about that. I personally think that a good goalkeeper playing in the Championship would not cause me any worry playing at international level.

Realistically, a mid-table/just promoted Prem team just aren't going to go beyond £20m for him though are they? Spinksy also raises the possibility of him theoretically going in as No.2 at a bigger club - but they probably wouldn't go above that for a No. 2 either? Man C Liv Tottenham Chels Man U ArseWolves Rui Patricio Everton Pickford West Ham Fabianski Leicester Schmeichel Newcastle Dubravska (just got NE player of the year) Soton Gunn/McCarthy Watford Foster Palace Guaita/Hennessey Brighton Ryan Bournemouth Boruc/Begovic Burnley Hart/Pope/Heaton Pretty hard to see many potential homes for him. Most clubs seem pretty content with their keepers. Bournemouth do stand out as a possible, but a team like them won't go above £15-20m maybe?

There’s that much money in the premiership clubs will pay what it takes to get somebody of Jack Butland standing and the fact he’s English It doesn’t matter who you’ve got in a position if somebody better becomes available you act and that’s what will happen To use your scenario mate it’s like saying if every premiership club have got good centre forwards so why would they want Mane in similar circumstances ....it’s simple they’d go for him If you get my gist
